Katherine's P.O.V

I woke up to the nonstop sound of my alarm as I stretched my arm just far enough to hit the snooze button for the 5th time this morning.

I checked the time on my alarm clock and it read exactly 6:00 AM. Crap! School starts in less than an hour; my mom is going to kill me.

I slid out of my floral bed sheets and made my way to the upstairs bathroom. I opened the door and started walking inside just far enough to see my reflection in the mirror. Everything was bright since the morning sun was making its way through the window to my far right.

As always, I look awful. My hair looks like- well let’s put it this way, if people were to see me roaming the streets, they'd probably call animal control.  Finally after judging my appearance I walked towards the shower and twisted the knob to release the hot water. I proceeded to remove my pajamas, as I rapidly entered the shower. I was greeted with the steaming water flowing down from the shower head.

I only took about 10 minutes seeing as I would not have enough time left for school if I took long. I stepped out of the shower and grabbed my towel. I started pacing through my walk in-closet, so many clothes, but I still couldn’t find anything to wear.

After what seemed like hours of thinking I ended up tying my hair into a messy bun. I decided to wear my favorite high waisted denim shorts with my brand new A'Gacci cross crop top, and of course my trademark black converse. I looked in the mirror and was quite pleased with my appearance.

A sudden realization hit me; I had no one to take me to school. I grabbed my phone and texted my best friend, Leah, in desperation.

Originally my sister Lucy was supposed to drive me to school, but she jumped at the chance at going with her oh-so idiotic boyfriend and leaving me, well... screwed. Mom and dad are at work so now I'm stuck without a ride; on the first day of school, Great! I waited about ten minutes for Leah to reply, but the wait was endless, and every minute that passed was another minute I was late for school. Dammit Leah, she always has to do this to me every time I’m in a hurry!

I kept staring at the clock, and I couldn't help but recall that there would be a bus on Woodly road in just five minutes. Woodly road isn't that far from where I live, just five blocks to be exact. And by the time Leah responds, I might as we'll not end up going to school to begin with.

I was rushing through everything, running to get my book bag as I ran into the kitchen, grabbed a bagel, shoved it down my throat and flew out the door.

As I was making my way to the Woodly road bus station, I didn’t see the bus so I presumed it had left without me. Damn my day is just getting better and better by the minute. I felt a vibration in my pocket, and for a second I thought my legs were going numb from all the running. I reached into my pocket, and a sigh of relief came out of my mouth when I saw that it was Leah.

 Leah

Hey, I'm sorry I didn't answer earlier, do you need anything?

Katherine:

It's alright; can you give me a ride to school?

Leah:

Sure, do I pick you up by your house?

Katherine:

No I'm on my way to your house, just get ready we're already late.
