Katherine's P.O.V

I was making my way towards my homeroom as I was checking what class I had on my phone. Dang it! I got Home Ed, again! I have been getting Home Ed for the past 3 years of high school, and I am a pure expert at it so I honestly don't understand why they keep adding my name to the class list every year.

I kept all those thoughts behind as I opened the door and headed inside. I was greeted by an annoyed teacher and about 20 other seniors staring at me. As uncomfortable as I was feeling that very moment, I particularly wasn't a fan of stares so I pretended I didn't see any of them and headed straight to an empty chair towards the back of the room.

"Wait a second Miss Reed, where exactly do you think you're going?"

I turned around feeling embarrassed, I felt my whole face heating up as I noticed I was having a stare down with the teacher. "I... umm... I was going-" I said but got interrupted by my teacher...

"Can you do me a favor and tell me what time it is?" My teacher asked with a displeased face. I glanced at the clock just above the door.

"It's 8:39." I said.

"And what does that mean?" The teacher asked angrily.

"That I'm late.... I'm so sorry I got caught up and then I had to run and-"

"No excuses, head over to the main office and grab a tardy sheet. Until then, you are not allowed inside this classroom" I put my head down and walked out of class. I made my way down the familiar path I just walked. The long hallways are empty besides the blue lockers scattered along the white walls. As I was walking, I'm peeking through the little windows on each classroom door I pass by and see the bored looks on every individual. Thank god I was late... I would have killed myself if I had to listen to a pathetic lecture again.

I made it to the door of the office. Once I opened the door, one of the administrators glanced through the window at me. By the expression on her face, I could tell that she knew I was in trouble. I tried to put on my most innocent face as I walked through the doors. Without giving me a chance to speak she quickly, and rudely informed me...

"I'm not aware what trouble you've gotten you're self into, but it's not polite to barge in here. Now go outside take a seat and wait for us to call you in." She never looked me once in the eye, as if she had more important things to do than deal with me.... bitch.

I arched my eyebrows up and mumbled, "I'm sorry... I just-"

"Would you like me to repeat myself? Take. A. Seat." This time she was narrowing her eyes at me. God, someone is on their period...

I huffed and walked out without saying a word. I plopped myself into one of the chairs. I was trying to distract myself by playing with my nails. Tik tok, tik tok. Just take your time clock. The only audible noise in this room, just the clock tiking the minutes away, then a sudden light snore appeared out of nowhere. What the hell? I looked to my left where the noise came from and noticed someone sitting a few seats away from me.

A guy. I wasn't able to see his face, he seemed to be asleep, I understand why, just being in this hell makes me want to go home and sleep. Since there seems to be nothing more interesting to do, I decided to just admire him. He was wearing denim jeans and his black polo shirt molded perfectly onto his torso, showing off his muscles.

Has he been here the whole time?

I didn't see him when I first walked by. He must have been here, considering that he fell asleep. I looked down at my shoes, trying to distract myself from looking like a complete weirdo. I was able to contain the urge to glance up again but the snoring stopped.
