Katherine's P.O.V
With Blake looking directly at me, I couldn't help but stare back at him. My legs began to get wobbly. I couldn't hold my weight anymore with the intense stare he was giving me. But before I fell to the floor the door was slammed ferociously.
I looked up meeting my mothers eyes. Her green eyes held so many emotions, mostly anger. I bet If looks can kill, I would be dead right then and there on the cold hard floor.
"Katherine Elizabeth Reed. I've been calling you for nearly an hour. What happened? And please explain why in the hell you arrived at my house with a boy? Not to mention that you're in your bikini!" Mother said each word with increasing rage.
I was lost for words, I didn't know how to explain this to her. I actually did have a good reason. I decided to hang out with my ex and was dared to go skinny dipping, then he ran off with my clothes; something dragged me down the cold water and then I was rescued by Blake. Actually this doesn't sound like a believable story to say.
My thoughts were disrupted by my mother shouting at me for the 10th time. "I'm waiting Katherine." She raised her voice when she said my name.
"Well I uh- what happened was that- someone stole my clothes while I was swimming in the ocean and my phone was in the pocket so that explains the missed calls..." I lied but mothers face stayed neutral while I was explaining, she didn't seem too convinced but I kept going. "So I was looking for the guy who stole it and I lost Leah and I didn't have a ride, so that guy that was outside gave me a ride. So here I am." I gave a small smile at the end lightening up the tension in the atmosphere.
Mother was like a statue with a stern look on her face. Gosh I really hope my story was enough for her to believe.
"And who gave you permission to go to this party?" My mother asked. Crossing her arms and arching his eyebrows.
"Well, it wasn't really a party, it was the Welcome Back Beach Bash, which is a school event." I quickly informed her. And by school, I meant that all the students knew about it, and it was an annual thing, but my mom didn't need to know that.
"Were there any teachers or parents there?"
"Um, no." I muttered quietly, hoping she wouldn't hear me.
After few minutes of silence and my mother scowling at me, she opened her mouth, "And you couldn't even call or at least text me about this?" She was giving me a disappointed glare, that had me staring at my feet.
"I'm sorry mom, you're right. I should have. It's just it was really short notice and..." I stopped realizing that giving her excuses wasn't going to help. "I'm sorry."
"I won't tell your father, but you are grounded. And Don't do anything stupid like that again. And don't be hanging around boys half naked, who knows what kind of terrible things they can do to you." And with that she left the room.
I left a sigh of relief as she believed my story, I mean it is mostly true but I left the parts that made me sound like I was crazy. Thank god father is still working, he would've had Blake's head even though he brought me home to safety. I would've also expected a very long speech from him and it wouldn't be something I want to be stuck in.
A cold sensation spread throughout my body. Damn I'm still in my bikini. Hating the feeling of coldness, I ran up to my room quickly. Removing my top and bottom I grabbed a towel and went straight to the bathroom. Turning the knob to heat, I slid into the shower to remove the salt water and the small grains of sand in my hair.
All I was thinking of was what had grabbed me down the water. It was terrifying to even remember it. It felt like long slender hands tangled around my ankle and with just one pull I was submerged into the dark water, not knowing what had grabbed me, I tried to escape its grasp but it was impossible.
