Blake's P.O.V

Silence engulfed my surroundings. Nothing but the waves crashing on the sandy shores, the water swaying with the winds breaking the silence. It's been like this ever since I parked the car far back and started heading towards the Beach Bash. Parking far away gives me time to walk and to think...

Why did I do that to her? Idiot! I practically just met the girl today.

But something about her just drew me in. Her beautiful ocean blue eyes holding life and hope, they just captivated me.

Why did I do that knowing the consequences? No... It won't happen. He doesn't know where I am. Hopefully he doesn't know, or this will make matters worse.

My thoughts were disrupted by the sounds of faint splashing. I discarded the noise, thinking it was just the waves.

Suddenly a familiar feminine voice shouts "HELP". My attention was on high alert as I start running towards the source, but the closer I got, the more I felt an eerie presence.

Wait... That's impossible.

No I pushed the thought far back in my mind. Ignoring the presence, I increased my speed. Once I reached where the shouts were heard, time just stopped, as if the hands of time were thrown out of balance.

My body automatically threw itself in the water, using every bit of energy I had to reach her. The splashing stopped and I knew that if I didn't get to her fast, in a matter of seconds he would take her.

I submerged underneath the water and I reached into the vast darkness. I finally touched her frail body and my arms wrapped around her, but a force pulled her away from me.

A scarily familiar sensation filled through my body, and then I knew. He found me. And isn't going to stop until he gets me. The thought of her already being dead crossed through my mind. But I couldn't let her die, that's if... she's still alive. I took a gulp and I did the one thing I dreaded most. I gave him the ring and I immediately felt the world around me darken.

He finally released his slimy clutch on her giving me the opportunity to grab her.

Without thinking twice I began to swim back to the shore as I was looking over my shoulder. The last thing I was able to see was his evil smirk and white eyes fading into the black of the sea.

Turning my attention back to Katherine, I felt my heart stop as I stared down at her beauty. I will never be able to understand how one can be so beautiful. My stomach ached at the thought of her dying. I laid her on the sandy shore, her skin shimmering under the moonlight.

I checked for a pulse, and when I couldn't find one, I instantly opened her mouth and started performing CPR. My heart was threatening to jump out of my chest, and my breathing was hard as I tried to revive her.

After various attempts I felt the last strand of hope in me slip away. I closed my eyes as a wave of guilt hit me.

This was my fault. If only I could have kept my distance. I knew what would happen yet I let the thought of her pull me in. If she knew, she would be disgusted by the human standing in front of her. But it's not like it made a difference, because now she's dead.

I jumped at the sound of a cough. I opened my eyes and saw her. Katherine, coughing up water. She laid downwards onto her back. Her eyes fluttered open, her pupils slightly constricting. The blue iris of her eyes landing on mine. She squinted her eyes as her eyebrows furrowed together.

She slowly rolled up using her elbows for support, and placed her left hand on her forehead.

"Careful." I suggested.
