Unhallowed

Chapter 3

Katherine's P.O.V

"The bell does not dismiss you!" shouted our science teacher as half the class began sorting and packing their bags.

We hesitantly waited for him to announce this weeks homework and headed out the door right after.

I was walking towards the door when I accidentally bumped into someone. I shifted my head upwards to take a glance at the person before apologizing and it turned out to be Jake Laynard; my ex.

I can't deal with this right now, "What do you want." It wasn't really a question, I just couldn't wait for him to answer so I ended it with a stern tone and pushed him out of the way.

"Wait!, Kat!, Hear me out, please!" he shouted as I rapidly paced out of the hallways and took a right turn into a random class, hoping I would lose him.

Until.... Crap!

"Miss Reed... what did I say about barging into my class" Last year me and Leah would always hide in lower grade classes so we got a chance to speak. We accidentally went in Waltz class more than a few times...

"I'm sorry, it wasn't on purpose... I swear!" I pleaded but clearly knowing it was a waste since Mr. Waltz loved getting me in trouble.

He didn't reply back so I took it as a chance to slowly get out of this class.

"Now where do you think you're going? Take a seat, you will be serving detention with me as a punishment-"

"What!" I shouted

"Now Miss Reed, you will not disrespect me like that. You will serve detention here now and you will come by after school, if you fail to do so, I will be obligated to call your parents."

"Understood?"

"Yes, sir." I stubbornly replied.

The day ended in a flash and I couldn't wait to finally get out. I didn't see Jake anywhere and I was more than thankful for that. I spotted Leah on the bench outside, most probably waiting to take me home, so I headed towards her, ready to drop the bomb.

"I know you're gonna hate me, but I can't leave yet." I stared at her hopelessly.

"What happened now..." She answered with an annoyed look on her face.

"Long story- I'm gonna be late, text you when I get home!" I shouted

I knew she would get angry with me over this so I left her behind and headed back into Waltz wonderful classroom, please note my sarcasm.

I headed inside, not only to be found face-to-face to the only person I didn't want to be with, yes worse than Mr. Waltz; Blake.

I stared at him in complete shock,

Dammit Katherine! Why couldn't I get one of those sudden urges of strength like I've seem to be getting a lot of today?!

'I'm sorry-" I managed to slip out and I moved towards an empty chair in back of the room.

To my surprise, he didn't follow me, nor did he seem to look at me, he just found a chair in front of the room, and sat.

What?

Okay now I'm confused, and slightly annoyed...

How can he practically throw himself at me not too long ago, and act as if I didn't exist now?

I shouldn't be mad... This is what I wanted right? For that freak to stay away from me?...

Sitting here in complete and utter silence has made me want to rip out every strand of hair I have on my head.
