Camila waltzed into Lauren's room again, like she had been doing every single day and slowly it became a routine. Camila set her stuff as she saw nurse Joy enter the hospital room and greeted Camila good morning.

Like always Camila opened the curtains and sorted all her school work out as she seated herself next to Lauren's bed, fiddling with one of the CD cases. She finally picked an album and played the music out as she gazed over Lauren's unconscious body, letting out a small sigh.

She intertwined her hand with Lauren's as she rubbed her thumb over the back of Lauren's soft hand and stared down at her science book, that was placed on her lap. It was tearing her apart seeing Lauren like this everyday. Suddenly, she felt a light squeeze to her hand. Camila furrowed her brows as she looked over at Lauren's still body and she thought her mind was playing cruel tricks on her.

Then, Lauren's eyes were twitching as she felt Lauren's hand grasp Camila's hand and Camila blinked a few times to check she wasn't tripping. When Lauren's eyes peeled open, Camila knew she wasn't dreaming and that Lauren was finally waking up. Camila just stared speechlessly at Lauren as she searched her eyes around the hospital room confusingly and knitted her brows together.

"Where am I?" Lauren asked with a hoarse voice and grunting when she tried to move any of her limbs as she looked down at all the tubes that pierced her arms.

"Well... you was a bad car accident, Lauren, and you've been in a coma." Camila explained as she was still utterly shocked that Lauren was speaking and awake.

"For how long?" Lauren questioned as she ran her finger over the needle that was dug into her skin and wriggled her slim fingers up and down.

"Urh... a year." Camila gulped as Lauren's face dropped from Camila's answer; for Lauren the whole accident seemed like only yesterday.

"You're awak-- what the hell are you doing here?" Clara's voice boomed through the room as she walked over to Camila, with her husband following behind her.

"Mom, just leave her alone." Lauren sighed annoyingly, she had just woke up and she couldn't be bothered with the drama of her parents.

"Don't you stick up for her." Michael hissed as he glared evilly at his daughter and fixing his posture to look more intimidating.

Clara pointed to the door, signalling for Camila to leave immediately as Camila glanced over at Lauren. Her girlfriend had just woke up from a year long coma and she wanted to spend time with her; this was so unfair. Camila glanced over at the green eyed girl, but Lauren just stared at her fingertips; there wasn't much she could do. The brunette sighed depressingly as she felt her heart sink to the bottom of her stomach, then she soon removed herself from the room where she was getting two death glares from Lauren's parents.

"You do disgust me sometimes when you associate yourself with her." Clara said bitterly, shaking her head in complete disapproval as Lauren felt her heart being slowly ripped in halve. "Also, there's been rumours about you at church, which is embarrassing and shameful for me and your father. All that girl does is cause trouble and sins."

"Well, I won't associate myself with her anymore."

After weeks of physiotherapy, Lauren was slowly learning how to walk again. It was difficult, well, everything was difficult. She had to learn to do everything again and had to be so dependable on other people. Her walk was more of a hobble and she couldn't use her hands properly, which frustrated her. Well, everything frustrated. She hadn't seen Camila since the day in the hospital, yet the girl had tried texting and calling Lauren everyday. She never replied. She physically couldn't text, but she knew the consequences if her parents found out. Since she was unable to attend school, she was getting tutored at home which she hated. She never thought she'd miss school this much. She couldn't wait to smoke and drink again with her friends. The doctors had said she would be able to attend school after her next physiotherapy session, but would be unable to participate in gym class. Although, she wouldn't be looking forward to school because there was no way of avoiding Camila there.

Meanwhile, Camila was walking home with Dinah and Normani.

"So, you guys were dating that whole time?" Normani asked curiously after Camila had told them about everything that happened between her and Lauren.

Camila nodded, gripping her books to her chest tightly as she stared down at the ground, whilst both girls watched her carefully.

"Who knew the bible basher girl would be a hardcore lesbian?!" Dinah joked, receiving a death glare and a light punch in the arm from Normani.

"Anyway." Normani said, staring at Dinah with widened eyes. "I think it's best if you let her go, Camz, with parents like that it won't work."

"It did work."

Normani and Dinah gave her a sympathetic look and smile, before saying more words of comfort.

When Camila arrived home, her father was in the kitchen cooking dinner for his family. Fortunately, her dad had been home to comfort Camila about the whole situation. As the younger girl slumped on to one of the chairs by the counter, her dad frowned at the sight of his upset daughter.

"Still hurting, kiddo?" Alejandro asked, lowing the heat on the stove and turning around to face his daughter.

"I miss her." Camila sighed, getting out one of her school books and beginning to do her homework, which had been set today.

"Maybe I should have a word with her parents, see what the deal-o is?" Her father replied, offering a reassuring smile, but Camila just shook her head.

"The deal is their religion."

"Listen up, mija." Alejandro said. "If there's a God, then I wouldn't be out, risking my life, to save this country, so don't let a book about nonsense in the sky dictate who you can love and certainly don't let it get in your way." Her father continued. "Because if there's a God, then I've seen him and he isn't the saviour, nor does he want saints to go to heaven. He wants destruction, violence and world wars. That's what he wants."

"I love you, dad." Camila smiled, feeling slightly better from her dad's words of wisdom.

"I love you too, mija." He responded with a happy smile.

Another week or so later, Camila stood outside the school building, whilst talking to Ally. It had seemed that Lauren's parents had restricted her from seeing no one, so not even her best friend could see Lauren. Once catching up with Ally, she left to sit with her friends, then came along was Normani and Dinah. They all waited outside in the scorching heat, when they saw an unfamiliar car pull over in front of the school. The car seemed extremely expensive and, to Camila's surprise, out came Lauren Jauregui. She was dressed in a black metallica shirt, jeans, her leather jacket and tinted shades. Her backpack was slung over her shoulder as she walked over to the table, in the courtyard, that her friends always sat at. Camila just stared in amazement and shock. Lauren then pulled out a cigarette carelessly, when the car had left.

"Fuck this." Camila mumbled.

Then, the brunette paced over to the smoking girl and stood in front of her, blocking her path way to the bench she use to sit at. Camila grabbed the cigarette from her hand, threw it on the floor and stomped on it.

"What the fuck are you doing?" The brunette yelled, gesturing to the cigarette. "And where the fuck have you been?"

"I was smoking and I've been recovering." Lauren shrugged, stuffing her hands in her pockets.

Camila looked closely at her face and she could see a scar running down her face from her forehead and through her left eyebrow.

"Stop being a dick." Camila snapped. "I've been fucking texting and ringing you and--"

"Yeah? Then stop." Lauren interjected as she shoved pass Camila to join her friends, leaving Camila stood there speechless.
