"Erm...sorry. Did-Did I interrupt?"

The ginger-haired girl smiles as if she's ashamed of seeing what she saw.

"Mind if I sit here? I couldn't find any other compartment."

I feel James shift beside me, as I blush feriously.

"Go ahead," James says, and he winks subtly at me. "I'm James."

He shakes hands with the ginger--and I notice something oddly familiar about her. "I'm Rowan."

"Kellan," I shake her hand and smile. Then the realization hits and sends me reeling. Oh gosh, she was the girl dancing with Draco!

I whisper to James what I remember and he nods and smiles.

"Hey, weren't you at the Malfoy's party?" his smirk playful.

I nod, my eyes lighting up in amusement. Why didn't I notice her before? Wow, it sure is to miss her with her bright red hair, too.

"Yeah, weren't you dancing with Malfoy?" I wink, but mentally scold myself with the peppiness in my voice.

What am I, a cheerleader?

The girl called Rowan laughs, a cheery sound that warms my heart. "No...we're just family friends, is all."

I gape, but that results to me pouting. I had a future planned out in my head for those two. Before I can say anything, though, J gets up to leave the girly conversation.

"I'm gonna go find the boys."

As he kisses me on the cheek, the familiar sparks race across where we touched. Before he could move away, though, I whisper, "Come back soon, yeah?"

And he smirks as he leaves. I wave like a madwoman as he closes the compartment's sliding door. As soon as we are alone, I explode, going in to full blown fangirling mode.

"You and Draco should be a couple. You guys would look so cute together!" Plus, he's rich, why would any girl deny that? I mean, he's attractive too and all, but, some people just want their galleons.

She laughs. Oh Merlin, did I just say that out loud? I blush, before she mumbles something I can't catch and my eagerness sinks to rock bottom. She obviously doesn't feel that way about the blonde beauty. He's not as cute as the girls say, in my opinion, well 'cause look what I have. James Alexander Lestrange, related to Bellatrix herself. He's not very proud of that personally, though she is his aunt. But, girls go crazy over Mr. Malfoy, especially Pansy Parkinson. She's so annoying!

"I'm just saying...you don't like him that way, do you?" I look at her like a muggle therapist.

"No, I just--" she stops abruptly and I know she needs time to think. I look at her, curiosity getting the best of me. "I just have this feeling...this feeling that there's someone else out there for me. Someone who really understands me--even better than Draco."

Her words strike me, yet I only understand her halfway. Growing up with two older brothers made me numb to love...while it lasted."Well then, we better see if we can find that person soon," I joke.

I watch her giggle and can't help but to laugh along. I think I may be able to help mend the scars that I know she has deep inside. And boy, her hair sure is bright!

After a while, Rowan drifts off to sleep. Before I get a chance to close my eyes myself, James comes back in with hot cocoa and blankets. I stand up and take one of the blankets from him and drape it over Rowan.
