(WOW READ AUTHORS NOTE IF YOU DARE OH AND WATCH VID BC PERF)
The rest of the six weeks of school were just shite.
Tyler was (and is) avoiding me, and it just so happens that I'm scheduled to go to his house this summer, in two days.
What fun.
"Oh, Kellan!"
Whipping around, I see a staggering figure making its way toward me.
It's James.
"How are you, baby?" He slings his arm over my shoulder, his breath stinking of alcohol.
"James," I mutter, "you're drunk. Stop."
"No, Kell-Bells, I still love you," he drawls, walking haphazardly down the hall with me. "Malia was a hoax," he waves his arms around, "to get you jealous, Slytherin heir."
Rolling my eyes, I try to push him off of me, but his grip is like iron. "James," my voice sounds slightly panicked. "Let go of me. Now."
"Maybe I don't want to, babe," he flirtatiously winks at me, his pale blue eyes cold.
"I'm not your--let go, James! Holy Helga Hufflepuff, I'm not interested in you anymore, okay? Calm. Your. Self. Down," I reach down and sink my teeth in to the flesh of his arm.
He flinches, and his grip lets go by a hair, and that lets me get control of myself. Swinging his arm over my head, I whip around and do, well, the expected.
I kick him in the jewels.
"Bitch," he snarls, and lunges at me. Flinching, I turn around and brace myself for the impact, but it doesn't come.
Pushing my hair out of my face, I slowly turn around. A person, broad shouldered and strong, is holding James back. Then, like lightning, they whip around and smack their fist in to his face, and the sound it makes has me flinching. James' body falls to the floor, limp, as the person turns to face me.
It's Tyler.
"Tyler?" I breathe.
He nods, and lowers his head. "Yeah, it's me."
Bending down, he scoops his arms underneath my back and legs, picks me up off of the stone ground, and sets me back on my feet.
"I was in the owlry, and a letter came in for you, from someone named Lukas had a letter for you," he bites his lip, and slightly blushes. "Then I saw James attacking you."
"Thank you," I breathe.
"For what?"
"For basically saving my life," I whisper, barely loud enough for him to hear. "Oh, and the letter."
He opens his mouth to say something, then closes it. Taking a breath, he runs a hand through his dark hair. "I still," he swallows, his Adam's Apple bobbing nervously. "I still...have feelings for you. And even though--even though you didn't tell me, about, you know, the thing," he chews on his bottom lip, a gesture that sends my heart reeling. "I, um, I forgive you. Because I know you would have told me, but, obviously you couldn't so," he takes another deep breath.
"Friends?"
I blink. Once. Twice.
Friends? Is that all he wants to be?
"I, erm, okay," pursing my lips, I take another shaky breath. "Okay."
"Okay," he breathes. "Okay."
I open the letter quickly, eager to head back to my dorm.
Kell,
I'm sorry to say that I will not be here this summer. He is not happy with your attitude in the maze. Understand, Kellan, that if you dissapoint him, you cause ruckus for me?
