~•Kellan•~

Tapping my quill against the wooden table in the library, I anxiously await the arrival of the one and only, Aidan Baker.

It's five to eight, the time we agreed on, so technically, he's not late.

"Ahem."

I turn my gaze to the figure above me. Its Aidan.

"Hey, mate," I say, scooting my bag from the chair next to me, to the floor underneath my seat.

Sitting in to the plush chair, he settles in and pushes his books toward the center of the desk.

"Alright, so, where do you want to start?" I ask, flipping through The Standard Book of Spells.

"Um, I've had trouble with the Summoning Charm." He runs his hand through his hair, obviously embarrased.

I smile. The Summoning Charm is actually a piece of cake, you just have to get the wand motion right. I smile, flipping to page 598, where the Summoning Charm is displayed.

"Okay, so basically, you know how to pronounce the charm, right?" I ask, getting up from my seat to take on a little "dueling" stance with my wand, the green emerald sparkling in the light. "So you just say, Accio, and say the thing you want to retrieve. Then, you flip your wand like this, while saying it of course." I do an arc with my wand, like the top of a half-circle. "You ready?" I ask him. He nods, and stands up across from me.

"Wands at the ready," I joke.

He smiles, and squints his eyes. Focused. Beautiful. Wait, what?

"Accio, book."

Nothing happens. Wow, this is harsh. Even Filch can do this, and Lord knows that he is not the brightest of the bunch. I hear he's a squib, too.

That sucks.

"Okay, you've got the pronounciation right, but let's check that flick of the wrist," I walk over to him, and stand to the side of him, taking his wand hand in mine to show the motion.

"Swish, and glide, swish and glide, swish and..." I trail off. Looking at me is a pair of gorgeous green eyes. Just the sight of him makes my knees buckle.

"Glide." His gaze turns down to my lips. His breath smells like mint...Wizard'sWash? He tilts his head to the side, and our lips meet.

It feels...it feels like magic. The kind of magic you only feel once in your life. And let me tell you, I forgot everything that had happened, everything that had ever hurt me. It's just him, and me.

He pulls away, both of us slightly breathless. Then it hits me.

I just kissed Aidan Baker, my best friend's brother.

"I think this study date...is over," I say, lightly pushing him away.

Hurt flashes across his face, as he says, "Yes, I believe you're right. Er, how's next Monday?"

I nod, and he packs up his stuff. I bite my lip as he walks away, and he looks over his shoulder before exiting the library. Giving a small smile, I give him a little wave. He waves back, and goes back to doing whatever he does in his life.

A tear slips down my cheek, and a small sob escapes my lips. Then, Niagra Falls decides to pay me a visit, and the tears escape.

"Kellan? What's wrong, babe?" It's Ebony. Oh, crap, oh my God. This can't be happening.

"I, um, it's nothing. I just, er, gotta go, bye Eb!" Eyes wide, I gather my things and storm out of the library, leaving Ebony looking very confused.
