Chapter Eight

Breakfast is a much more subdued affair. Only the Alpha, Beta, Delta and their little omega Carwyn are present along with Finis, Magnus, Brice, Sim, myself and ofcourse my mate. Also Alpha Paden and the other Elders have decided to join in. The Brechfa Luna is currently being entertained by none other than Finis' grandmother and let me tell you she is one hell of trip.

After filling up on an amazing meal, Finis ends all side chatter by clearing his throat. He looks directly at Carwyn and to the confusion of all but myself and quite possibly my mate asks, "Do they know?" Carwyn looks down at his now empty plate effectively avoiding looking directly into anyone's eyes.

"Carwyn, please answer my question." I very slowly see him shake his head in the negative while shaking in fear. "Why are you scared? You know you have nothing to fear from me." "It is not you I fear." Carwyn responds.

"Then who do you fear?" Finis asks. With a look of total anguish on his face, he looks up at Finis and with tears in his eyes he goes to open his mouth but nothing comes out. Finis gets up and walks over to Carwyn and sits next to him in a chair that suddenly appears out of thin air. I hear the gasps of the members of the Brechfa pack and chuckle as I know that is nothing compared to what he can really do.

"Tell me little one. You and I are kindred spirits just like Nachton is and if someone is making you scared like this they will answer to me." "I am afraid of what my pack, my family might think of me. I, I just..." He trails off again as he cannot speak and is now openly sobbing.

You know you have to have some serious respect for Alpha Aeron. He is one bad ass alpha and having an only child, his lineage being an omega could not have been easy but he loves his son unconditionally. You can see it in the way he behaves around him. He wraps his arms around his son and calms him down very quickly.

He turns Carwyn's face towards him and asks, "What is going on? If someone has threatened you they will die, pack or not!" Carwyn looks over at Finis and for a brief moment all is completely quiet and in that moment I realize they must have conversed through a mind link.

Then to confirm my suspicions Finis says, "Alpha Aeron, Carwyn may be an omega that much is true. But what I know beyond any doubt is that like Nachton and myself, he is special because he has certain gifts." "What do you mean gifts?" his father asks. Then to my utter shock Carwyn says, "It was not Finis who made the chair appear for him to sit. It was me!"

I am pacing back and forth in Alpha Paden's office waiting for Finis to arrive.  With each revelation opening up before me I now have a pretty clear idea of what is going on.  I finally stop before the alpha's desk as Finis appears out of nowhere and plants his ass right in the chair.  

Suddenly to the utter shock of everyone involved, one by one, the important pack member's of my pack blink in confusion as they also appear out of thin air.  I am stunned speechless.  I did not even know Finis could just randomly make people appear out of thin air.

We all just openly stare at Finis and marvel at the scope of his power.  I am suddenly pulled out of my reverie at the sound of him saying in an innocently questioning voice, "What?"  He looks at all of us and he pretty much knows what.  He shrugs it off and gets right down to business.

"Any thoughts on what could possibly be going on?", Finis asks as he looks from his mate, to our alpha, our Beta and Delta and finally his perusal ends with me.  "There seems to be a pattern with these rogue attacks which is not a normal trait for a rogue.", Magnus states.

Never taking his gaze off of me, Finis asks, "And your thoughts Trahern?"  I take a good hard look at everything that has occurred so far and answer, "Someone is controlling these rogues."  "What brings you to this conclusion?", Magnus asks.  I turn to look at him and say, "Because although he is the most powerful being in our existence there is one thing that can control him?" 

Magnus as well as the others look confused but Finis knows precisely what is going on in my head.  "Magus, what is the one thing that could truly bring your mate to his knees?", I ask him and he responds with, "As sure as I am that I would be in the same frame of mind if something happened to my mate, it would have to be if something were to happen to me and that is not an easy thing to do.  Taking me down would be a hell of a job."

"Exactly so then what else could maybe be a bargaining chip to try and get the most powerful being on this planet to bend to your will?"  As it dawns on them one by one you can hear the different curses being flung in the air.

"Someone is trying to get to the very creatures I am sworn to protect.  However, there is a flaw in whatever plan this evil mastermind has plotted.", Finis says and then he gets up from the chair and comes around the desk and stands in the center of our party and says in warning, "What I am about to tell you must remain here, with us only.  Other than Nachton, you will be the only ones who know what I am about to tell you."

The room is completely noiseless and that is when I realize that Finis must have erected some kind of protective barrier around us to ensure total secrecy.  Taking a deep breath in he says, "Every omega that currently exists is not just under my protection but also is being protected by our Goddess.  They each will possess unique gifts like Carwyn and Nachton.  I am the exception because I broke the curse and any omegas whose gifts did not present at birth are just coming into them now.  I have spent a lot of time reaching out to them and helping them understand and prepare themselves but I will have to do more."

Magnus walks up to his mate and asks, "What do you mean by more?" "I will have to reach out to them all and warn them of what is coming their way so they can defend themselves if possible.", He looks down as he responds but Magnus takes Fin by the chin and brings his gaze right back up to his and asks, "Baby, how dangerous is that?  What will happen to you?"

"It could kill me to be honest but what I need is a being whose strength I can siphon in order to keep me from weakening while I use all of my power to reach every omega in this world.", he responds.  "But would that not kill the person whose strength you would in essence be draining them of?", Magnus asks.

Before Finis can even answer, in that moment, it's as if I become suddenly aware of my true purpose in life.  It explains why I feel all of this power flowing through my veins and I respond with, "No, not if that wolf has been raised with nothing inside.  No fear, emotions, worries just...nothing.  There is a great strength that one achieves when everything else just goes away.  But Finis, now that I have found my mate, won't my strength be compromised?"

"No, because of your mate, he is your biggest motivation and with that alone your strength is only superseded by my own and any creature like me.  The only problem that we have is YOU.  In order for you to do this, you have to let it all go.  All of it and I am not sure if we will have enough time with the increased attempts from these rogues."

After a bit of silence from all parties, Finis says, "Take some time and think things through.  Trust in your mate to see you through this decision as you could potentially lose your life as well.  But please understand one thing, the story that you hold inside of you is not for me to hear.  I already know it my dear friend.  You have to reveal your most inner secrets to your mate in the hopes that he will heal your soul.  Once you do this, then we can proceed."

I look at him and everyone else in the room and nod my head and just walk right out of the room knowing that if I do what Finis asks of me, I will become the most vulnerable I have ever been in my entire life and will maybe face the possibility of losing my mate because of it.
