Chapter Eighteen

We find ourselves out in the center of our lands preparing for what Finis and I hope won't kill us both.  It is a fairly small affair.  Our mates are here as well as Alpha Paden.  Sim is here because Finis insisted that Carwyn and Nachton join us. 

The elders are keeping watch over the other omegas as well as Geal.  Why, because Finis believes that if he is able to reach every omega then that will include those present amount us.  He does not know what will happen to them if they have already presented with their powers.  He just wants to ensure the safety of every omega.

Carwyn's father is here as well, you could not keep him from his son's side so hopefully we have enough power here keep everyone safe.  I am just not sure what we need to be safe from.

Nachton and Finis begin to form strange symbols with the fire like aura that glows from their hands until there is a perfectly drawn circle.  Then Finis enters the circle and stands in the center as he says, "No one can touch us. Not Trahern or I can be interrupted once I tap into his strength. No matter what happens.  No matter what you desire, you all must obey me in this request!"

Everyone agrees and then he turns his gaze towards me and says, "Stand on the edge the circle where the Gamma symbol lies facing me then we can begin."

I move where I am directed and before anything else is said, Nachton comes to me and wraps his arms around my neck and proceeds to kiss me to within an inch of my life.  Then I hear, Be safe, Be strong and return to me!  I caress his face one more time, memorizing every detail and say, "Always!"

Then Finis says, "Let us begin!"  The circle begins to glow white and that is when I realize that he is standing on the symbol for omega and that symbol is attached to the circle that surrounds me.

Then the circle starts to shimmer a rainbow of different colors and I look back at Finis and see he is now in a trance like state.  Everything around us begins to shake.  It's as if all of the elements are bowing down to him and then he opens his eyes and all I can see is the universe reflecting back.

I call on the four elements.
Tapping into your essence.

The rainbow glowing around us is now swirling in the air like a huge ball surrounding Fin and I.

I reach out to the stars
So that I may see for miles.

Goddess hear my plea.
Grant me the strength to be free.

Free of form, free of ties.
Grant me the freedom so my soul may rise.

Then he starts to float rising upwards towards the sky.  In the background I heard my mate telling Magnus not to approach.  Then he hovers in the air and raises his arms towards the sky and beams of rainbow light shoot out from his fingertips.

I feel as though I am at the epicenter of a tornado and then I begin to feel a throbbing inside the essence of my very core.  My wolf has surfaced granting me more strength as I begin to feel diminished. My head begins to pound and my breathing becomes a bit laboured.

There is this wave coming from me and entering Finis.  He is siphoning my strength and then suddenly, even though the scene around us has changed, all sound ceases to exist as one by one like fireflies, I see little twinkling lights appear before me.

Colors I never knew could exist appear before me and then I know what they truly are.  Each light represents the soul of an omega.

Hear me dear ones
Listen to me
Open yourselves up
Let me help set you free.

Dig deep within
Search for your inner light
Let it engulf you
Then your souls will take flight.

Then everything around me starts to shimmer so brightly that I am forced to close my eyes.  The dizziness hits me hard as my strength begins to fade. Suddenly, it's like a loud bomb going off and this strong wind blows down to the ground and I see Finis falling from the sky.

I also see Carwyn and my mate falling as well.  I think to myself, when the hell did they begin to float. I see Magnus take off quick as lightening just in time to catch his mate in his arms as I, out of pure instinct, use the last my strength and head for my mate just in time to catch him.

We hit the ground hard on my back and before I lose consciousness, I see Sim catch Carwyn as well and then it all goes black...

As I come to, I take in my surroundings and it looks like a major natural disaster hit our land.  I feel my mate begin to stir as I hear the others as well.  I feel so out of sorts.  I look over my mate who is still in my arms and ensure that he is unharmed.  

We both sit up and my gaze immediately zeroes in on Finis.  He is currently in the arms of his mate who is having a bit of a struggle getting him to wake up.  "Baby, I need you to wake up.", he says softly to him.  He shakes him a bit and as if guided by an unknown force, I let my mate go and crawl over to Finis.

"Please baby, please wake up.  I, I can't exist without you!", Magnus is saying with the stirrings of anguish in his voice.  I reach them and look over at him and say, "May I?" He nods his head at me but does not let go of his mate.

I take a good look at Finis and even though I have just about nothing left, I know deep in my heart that he needs a bit more of my strength.  I place my right hand on his forehead and my left on his heart and just pray.  

 All mighty and powerful Goddess hear my plea.  Please, please show me how to use my strength to help him.  We need the Chosen One.  Our humanity, our strength, our unity as a species depends on him.  

Then I feel a warmth surround my entire body and a humming in my ears.  I can feel my mate at my side and his presence adds to my strength.  I feel Carwyn come upon Fin's other side lending him strength as well and just when I thought I would succumb to the amount of power surrounding me, I hear a huge gasp come from Finis and the relieved sigh from his mate.

Fin sits up and says, "We did it.  They are all now truly free and will hopefully be able to protect themselves but we need to prepare.  They are all coming here." Fin then takes my hand and says, "Thank you my brave friend.  Your strength helped bring me back and as I have always said, there is no greater protector than a Gamma."

We all look around at ourselves.  Some with exhaustion but most with smiles on their faces.  Then I hear a gasp come from Carwyn so I look over to him only to see him facing Sim and say, "Oh my, you are my mate!"
