Chapter Ten

I just wanted to warn you that you have about an hour before we descend on you and your mate!  I hear Finis warn me in my head.

I lift my head and look into the eyes of my mate who is now wiping the tears from my face and then I kiss him with complete and total abandon.  I cannot get enough of that plump bottom lip of his and I lose myself just sucking on it.  I hear his breath beginning to become labored and then I feel the heat begin to rise in my nether region and since Finis will be here soon I know we have to stop before we get carried away.

I slow us down and while gazing into the windows of his soul I say, "I love you too!"  Then I place another gentle kiss on his lips as he beams at me and I notice for the first time that he has one dimple on his face and my heart begins to fill with more love for this beautiful being in my lap.

"There is much more I need to tell you but this is all I can handle for now."  "Ofcourse!  You can tell me anything at anytime when you feel you are ready as there is nothing you could say to me that would make me love you any less than I do right now.  Let me just say this.  You were the victim of a monster.  You are NOT the monster.  If I have to spend the rest of my life proving it to you then so be it.  Just know that YOU Trahern are MINE and I am not giving you up for anything or anyone."

Smiling with glee for the first time in my life I respond with, "Duly noted my love!"  He then proceeds to have a giggling fit just as Finis and Magnus arrive out of thin air.  Along with them are Carwyn and surprisingly, our Delta Sim.  

Then like the show off I am discovering he is, Finis makes a huge blanket appear and floats down to lay on the grass perfectly as the makings of a grand picnic begin to also appear one by one placing themselves in their respective places on the blanket.  Carwyn just claps and giggles as he is the only one among us who is not exposed to this magic almost on a daily basis.

I also notice the look on my friends face.   Oh my, could this be what I think it is.  No Carwyn is too young to know who his mate is but Sim on the other hand looks completely smitten.  Oh my, this is going to be fun!

I feel Nachton get off my lap and stand up so I get up as well.  He steps to the side as Finis approaches us.  Magnus is not too far behind him.  Sim sits not too far away from Carwyn on the blanket keeping what can only be described as a watchful eye on him.

Finis walks right up to me and puts the now glowing palm of his hand right against my chest over my heart which is suddenly pounding rapidly. I also feel my mate behind me as he wraps his arms around my waist.  I entwine my arms with his and grasp his hands and entangle my fingers with his.  I feel him place his cheek on my back and the pounding begins to subside.

Then I feel what can only be described as a massive rush of adrenaline build inside of me and begin to vibrate throughout my body as if I am being purged of any impurities in my soul.  In his eerie, out of this world voice, I hear Finis say while in a trance, "You are so brave my warrior friend.  You have begun the process of healing by beginning to open yourself up to life.  Taking a chance and letting those closest to you in can be a risk but one that is worth it in the end.  Trust in your mate for at his side, you will become whole and once that happens you will be a sight to behold."

He begins to wobble a little side to side as he takes his hand away and as I go to reach out to hold him steady, Magnus is right behind him wrapping himself around his mate just as I hear the most hair raising voice in my head say, You, my brave, brave warrior have been tasked with watching over my most precious of beings.  You have great strength and power running in your veins and now that you have opened yourself up and have begun to accept yourself for who you really are, prepare thyself for when it comes you will have to use everything you were taught to control it.  I trust no other with this.  Use it wisely!

My head feels like it is on fire and when I am finally able to focus around me, my mate is still wrapped around me as we are both on our knees and now Carwyn is near just like Finis.  I do not remember my knees hitting the ground.  "It takes a momentous amount of strength in order to endure just a few words from our Goddess.", Finis says with a smile on his face.

Yet again another smile graces my face and I look over at my future alpha and without the need for words he gives me permission and I stand up and help my mate up off the ground as well.  I turn to him completely and caress the side of his face as he nuzzles it into the palm of my hand.

He graces me with the most loving and adoring smile and then I turn to The Chosen One and I think for the first time in a while, manage to surprise his little ass as I give him a big bear hug and say, "Thank you!"  "You do not have to thank me.  That's what friends are for right.  We are friends yes?", he asks a bit timidly and I still see traces of the shy and shunned loner wolf.

It is at this moment that I realize I don't just have a loving mate, I have friends who care about me and quite possibly my closest friend and ally in Finis.  "Ofcourse we are.  You are one of three people that I trust the most and if I am being honest, you are probably my first TRUE friend.  It is then that he hugs me back and then says, "Come on everyone.  Let's relax and enjoy ourselves a for a little while.  Come and eat!"
