Cassie and Shane enter the witch's retreat; the Perrsonville swamp, the morning's bombardment of light almost comes to an end, and the noon's strike makes it way through the blue battlefield. The lingering smell of the swamp is old as they remember; rotting wood and waters filled with dying organisms.

"And that's where the witch tried to kill me.", Cassie remarks, pointing at the same witch hut she has been previously.

"That is where I got the book containing the map."

"Wow, you should have seen us in the nether...", Shane comments.

Cassie notices his lack of engagement throughout the walk, "Shane you seem a little...quiet lately.", Cassie says, turning her head to face her muted friend.

"Oh it's nothing, it's just...yeah.", he stutters. He takes a deep breath and lets it out and bites his lower lip.

"I swear something is wrong with him...I just don't know what is up. Could it be he is missing Edwin or something?", Cassie says in her mind.

A slight gust of wind tickles inside the ears of the two friends, a sign of autumn's upcoming reign, it also triggers the hair on Cassie's arm. Across the waters, Cassie and Shane see the other witch huts in the area, most of them are vacant, where the witches collect ingredients for their witchcraft.

"And this is where the portal is.", Cassie claims, directing Shane to a cavern she has previously visited.

"So this is the portal chamber? Cool.", he replies, hopping down into the hole.

The portal stands still, integrated into the stone walls, the two examines the portal, Shane ominously suggests something.

"Hey, Cassie. Try lighting up the portal, see if it's the real one or not..."

He puts on his usual smile, promoting Cassie to open it,

"Let's see Perrsonville one more time! Maybe I can convince the others to forgive you for the breaking and entry.", she also suggests.

Cassie rustles through her rucksack, then pulls out the florid blue enchanted flint and steel; the portal key. She bends down and strikes it, igniting the portal. A blinding flash of light throws Cassie back, the now activated portal is the only thing separating Cassie and Shane from their original homeworld.

"Who's going to go first?", Cassie asks, looking back at Shane.

"Ladies first.", he replies, still maintaining his sweet smile.

Cassie steadily treads towards the blinding portal, she sticks her hands forwards and faces away from the glowing aura. She shuts her eyes quickly, as she sees the white light, she feels something hard hitting her in the head, knocking her to the stone-like ground beneath her.

Cassie tries to get up, but the shooting pain from the initial hit restrains her ability to stand up.

"...what?", Cassie groans, scrambling towards the exit, eyes still shut.

She jostles forwards, not looking back, the gritty floor scrapes her arms and legs, but it she doesn't stop. The blinding light stops, she opens her eyes; the portal room.
