Cassie sits on her bed, trying to let her deep sleep come through, but it never came. Her shallow dreams only contain a former silent hero; Mitch. She tries desperately, shutting her emerald-like eyes but to no avail. Even with her eyelids enclosing her emerald eyes, a piercing ray of the morning light shines through her drapes. Cassie lets out her grudge and violently opens the drapes, a bombardment of the early dawn's artillery overwhelms Cassie, it's radiant payload warms up Cassie for an upcoming day, even waking up Winslow, who was beside the foot of her bed. She averts her eyes and gets ready for another day of Perrsonville.
This morning wasn't grey but by soothing lavender and brilliant amber. The colours merged into neon pink and peach in an unusual fashion
"Come here Winslow, come to your master.", Cassie silently orders.
Her calico cat dashes towards his master, more awake than his worn out master. She briefly pets him, then runs off. Cassie follows Winslow down the stairs, trying not to wake up the two late birds above her, she reaches into her rucksack and fetches her newly found portal key, quickly grabs a few apples and then rushes out the door, into vibrant daylight.
"Now if I remember, the portal is in a chamber down in the swamps", she recalls in her mind.
A late summer breeze saunters through her hair, marking the beginning of a bitter autumn.
"Also, I wonder what happened to Lizzie and Sparklez. I think they already gave up on the search?", she thinks.
Cassie sees some townspeople doing their everyday tasks, such as foraging, and collecting lumber. She makes a sharp right and descends down the cliff side, the same area where she the four adventurers came.
"I guess we should tell him now...", a muffled voice springs from the ground.
Cassie takes note of that and investigates. Then, two figures emerge from a crater in the ground; it's Lizzie and Annie, still looking for the portal key.
Cassie doesn't want them to know that she is an Old Builder, due to the fear of them ruining the balance of power within the ranks, as Sparklez states during the conversation at Mountain View, the same thing that happened when Harper brought other members of the Ice Worlds.
The two occupied friends turn around and see Cassie standing there. "Oh, hey Cassie!", Annie greets.
"Yeah, hi guys", Cassie replies, hopping down into the crater, "What are you guys up to?"
"Well, as you can see. We are finding the enchanted flint and steel, we're trying to get it first because Sparklez and TorqueDawg wants it first.", she explains. "When, we get our hands on it, I'll open a portal and then make it our own world."
Cassie sees something grey moving in the corner of her left eye, she looks back but the morning sun still delivers its early morning payload into her eyes.
"As a matter of fact we, we actually found it!", exclaims Annie, waking closer to the entrance of the cave.
"We thought it would be in a cave, and then we found a hidden base enclosed inside a ravine, so me and Lizzie...", she recalls, then sees something misplaced; a stone block looks discoloured and is slightly smaller than other blocks around it.
Cassie, Lizzie, and Annie, slowly creeps up towards the block and proceeds to scrutinise it.
"It feels rather...bumpy...like wood.", Cassie describes she puts feels a small bump and peels it off, revealing the wooden texture underneath.
"Hey! That's not a real block!", Lizzie discovers, kicking it, revealing it was hollow, all to their surprise.
An ominous person curled into a ball inside suddenly realises his disguise was blown, he wears a black jacket with an earth green hood, his face is enclosed in a wither skeleton skull hiding any signs or clues on his appearance, he is a textbook answer to the definition of 'shady'. He books it out of the cave, holding the enchanted flint and steel in his hands. The trio chase the thief out of the cave, he nimbly manoeuvres every obstacle matching those of a gymnast, he leaps into the forest with ease, while the pursuers struggle to keep up. He leaps above waters with ease, easily manoeuvres fallen logs and rocks, keeping them off his tail.
"This guy is fast!", Annie claims, dashing through bushes and jumping over streams.
"Yeah, reminds me of someone....", Lizzie suspiciously recalls.
"Cassie, we will do this ourselves.", Lizzie demands as she runs into the bushes.
The two run into the forest, leaving the view of Cassie.
"Oh well, at least I've still got mine. Now, how about we take a look at that 'secret base' they were talking about.", Cassie mutters curiously.
She goes back to the cavern and hops in and examines the environment around her; a dewy like cavern, with a smell of ashes from the torches beside her. Cassie then walks deeper inside the cave, her footsteps makes a rich thud every time she takes a step, she sees the entrance of the stone brick base, excavated by the formers of the mine.
"So far so good.", she claims, taking a peek into the base.
The base was filled with chests and furnaces. Some crafting benches are in order. The base also contains several bookcases, a bed, several brewing stands, even a little pond containing fish.
She sees all of this in amazement and comments, "Wow, I remember this, the other Old Builders...", the melody of paper crackling from below catches her attention, she looks down and notices that the symphony came from some unknown blueprints just underneath her foot and picks it up.
She reads them, plans for a very large mansion, hundreds of blocks long and high, mainly made out of wood, nether brick, and stone, something that fits her taste of building. She gasps,
"This is perfect for Winslow and his friends, I could just add some catnip dispensers, scratchable walls, infinite wool, and even an automatic fish cooker and they will be the happiest calico cats in the universe!", she exclaims, in a maniacal manner, hugging the plans like one of her cats.
"It will be the best cat haven ever! And I could just have all the cats live in there! And it will just take a little time to build, but your master, Cassie Rose has experience with building!", she rambles on.
"Best of all, it's near the portal!"
She puts her plans down and proceeds to exit the Old Builder's hidden base, Shane was waiting above the surface, still like the autumn trees behind him.
"Cassie...", Shane says in a quiet matter, Cassie almost couldn't hear it, it almost lingers past her ears.
"Hey Shane, why are you here.", she asks. Shane was silent for a split second, his gazing dark brown eyes lay a sudden feeling of something crawling under Cassie's skin.
"I was just walking around...and you know. I came to see something happen so I came here.", he says, still standing tree still.
Cassie's feelings grow stronger, "Umm...", she murmurs, scratching her head. "Want to check out the portal? Remember I have the portal key so we can get back into the Founders' Land again." She strikes a grin, still worried about something.
"Okay, let's check it out...", he replies, but his tree like attitude prevents him from walking with Cassie. She turns around and sees this,
"Are you going to come?", she asks several blocks from him.
"Yeah, I'm just a little tired, I'll catch up..."
