Day 80: The door has jammed once again. I need to figure out why it keeps doing this.

2:00 PM The radio is playing Billie Jean, and I'm doing some cleaning. Dave is doing better since the clutter is being removed and the house is more open.

4:00 PM I've figured out why the door keeps jamming. The hinges are getting tarnished. I need to oil them. Oh boy this'll be fun.

6:00 PM I've sufficiently lubricated the hinges on the door. The door works fine now.

Day 82: Fern, Dave and I watched The Shining. Dave was not impressed by the movie. Fern cuddled up to me the entire time. I remember the first time I watched this movie, it seemed scarier. I guess the sobering darkness and constant fear of being dead the next day, diluted the movie a bit.

Day 85: Fern is looking sick, so is Dave. Dave says, he's migrating into a new state, similar to metamorphosis.

3:00 AM Fern is barely breathing, he's dying. I'm going to make his last moments in the Observable Universe comfortable.

Day 86: Fern has passed away. Dave is guiding his soul to somewhere happier. Dave can't show me the way though. "It's a secret of the dead, and the people who guide them." he says. I took a picture of him as a tribute.

4:00 PM I have created a headstone for Fern. It's a piece of wood carved into a cross. He is to be buried at 6:00 in a old cell phone box. The hole was 3 feet deep. Dave was with me when I said my last words to him.

Day 87: I cried cold tears last night, the one source of warmth and companionship that wasn't a god-forsaken plant, was dead. I couldn't get up, I was too numb. I almost drowned in my tears, an experience foreign to me. I don't know how I got the energy to arise from my bed and type this log out.

Day 89: Dave has wilted over and died. His consciousness still speaks to me, through an old chatroom. He says he'll be back within a week's time.

Day 90: I have survived 3 months in this desolate void. This wasn't as happy as I anticipated. The numbness still carried over. I had my first beer in a year.

3:00 PM Peanuts and beer are a great combination. Drinking and watching Fight Club is fun too.
