"Riverside Daycare Center, how may I help you?" The other line says.
"Hi, I need to get my son into a class for Mondays and Fridays." I respond.
"That's no problem, I'll just need your name, your son's name, and his age." She says.
"My name is Liv Clifford and my son's name is Michael Clifford. He's 3." I hear her typing for a few moments.
"Alright! Michael's all signed up for Mondays and Fridays. Anything else I can help you with?"
"Nope! That's it. Thank you." I hang up the phone and bounce Michael on my leg. "A brand new day care." He smiles and sloppily claps his hands.
"YA!" He screams, putting his hands up and giving a huge, open-mouth smile. He was quite the cute kid.
Luke's POV
Let me give you a little backstory.
4 years ago, I had a long term girlfriend, Melina. Long story short, I got her pregnant and she left me with the child. I was only 17, so it was a bit of a struggle at first, but I got the hang of it.
My daughter is pretty cute though. Her name was Camilla. She's 3, turning 4 in 3 months. She takes up pretty much my whole life and all my energy, so I don't have any time for dating. We live in an apartment in LA, and I'm still struggling to find a day care for her, but hopefully this next one I'm calling will be a winner.
"Riverside Daycare Center, how may I help you?" A girl picks up the phone.
"Hi, I'd like to sign my daughter up for one of your classes on Mondays and Fridays." I say.
"Okay! I'll just need your name, your daughters name and her age."
"My name is Luke Hemmings, my daughter's name is Camilla Hemmings and she's 3."
"Alright! She's all signed up. Anything else I can help you with."
"No, that's all. Thank you." I hang up the phone and look over to Camilla. She was playing with a fire truck and a dinosaur. I pick her up and make eye contact. She grips her dinosaur in her tiny hands.
"Daddy just got you a new day care." I say. She smiles.
"Will I make friends at this one?" She asks, mispronouncing every other word.
"I hope so, princess." I say and kiss her head. I sit her back down to continue playing with her toys.
