Liv's POV

"Michael, get your jacket, we're going grocery shopping." I open Michael's door and see him playing with his cars.
"But mommy! I'm in the middle of a high speed chase!" He says.
"I'm sorry sweetie but we have to go." He frowns and puts his cars away. He grabs his jacket and runs to the front door.

We arrive at Whole Foods a few minutes later. I get a cart and put Michael in the front.

"Mommy, can we get chocolate milk?" Michael asks.
"Sure." I say with a smile.
I walk down the dairy aisle and start looking out for chocolate milk.
"MOMMY! MOMMY!" Michael screams. "It's my best friend!" I look at Michael and he's pointing behind me. I turn around to see Camilla.
"Michael!!" She screams and runs towards our cart. I sigh and take Michael out of his seat to talk to his friend. I look around and I didn't see Camilla's dad.
"Camilla, do you have your dad with you?" I ask.
"Yeah, daddy's getting me more bows. He'll find me, I told him I was gonna talk to my best friend!" I smile at how cute she is.
"Okay then, sweet bean." I say.
"Oh, my daddy's right there!" She says and points down the aisle. I see a guy, probably in his early 20s walking towards us.
"Hi sweetheart." E says and leans down to Camilla. "Look at the bow I found you." He holds out a sparkly pink bow in front of her.
"OH MY GOSH! It's so pretty!" She hugs her dad.
"I wish I had a dad." Michael says, which breaks my heart.
"Me too, bub." I sigh. Camilla turns back to Michael. Her father looks at me.
"I'm Luke." He says. He holds out his hand for me to shake.
"I'm Liv." I say and shake his hand. "I guess our kids are best friends."
"Camilla's always been an outgoing little one." He says and puts his hands in his pockets.
"Michael's always been pretty quiet."
"Opposites attract." Luke says and laughs.
"I guess so." I say.
"Mommy! Can I go over to Camilla's for a play date? Pleasssssse?!" Michael asks.
"Honey, we have to finish grocery shopping. But if it's okay with Camilla's daddy, you can go over tomorrow." I look up at Luke and he nods.
"Okay!" Michael says. "Are you and Camilla's daddy gonna talk while we play?"
"Probably." I say. Michael gives Camilla a small thumbs-up before turning back to me. I lift him back up to the cart.
"Sorry about that..." Luke says. "I think Camilla's trying to set me up with you." We laugh.
"That's cute." I say.
"Well I guess I'll see you tomorrow. You can bring Michael over at like 10."
"Sounds good." I say and roll away with Michael.
"You and Camilla's daddy got along good." Michael comments.
"Michael... Are you and Camilla trying to set up Luke and I?" I ask.
"Noooo..." A long smile draws across Michael's face. I smile and roll my eyes.
"You're too cute."

The next day, 10:06 am

I ring the doorbell of Luke's house, holding the hand of a very excited Michael. Luke answers seconds later.
"Hi Michael!" He says. "Are you excited to play with Camilla?"
"Yeah!!" Michael practically screams.
"She's waiting upstairs for you." Luke says, causing Michael to run up the stairs.
"Hi Liv." Luke says, calmly.
"Hi Luke." I say. "I'm sorry for how loud Michael gets. He's never had a 'real' friend before."
"Oh, it's the same with Camilla." He laughs. "Do you want some coffee?"
"That would be good." I say. He leads me to the living room and sits me down on a couch before going into the adjoining kitchen. He grabs 2 mugs from the cabinet.
"I can't tell you how many drawings Camilla has made of her and Michael." Luke says.
"I can't tell you how many bows Michael has come home with." I laugh.
"Our kids are quite the pair." He comes back into the living room with 2 mugs of coffee and sits next to me, handing me a mug.
"So do you know why Camilla and Michael are trying to set us up?" I ask and take a sip of coffee.
"Camilla just really wants a mom. She's been out of the picture for a long time." Luke explains.
"Same with Michael's dad. I haven't really dated that much since he left."
"Me as well... I just don't have the time and the energy."
"Kids really take it out of you." I laugh.
"That's true." He agrees.
"But maybe one day I'll find a dad for Michael." I say.
"Maybe." Luke gives a close-mouth smile before sipping his coffee.

We had 3 hours of conversation, discussing our kids and what we do for livings and making really terrible jokes.

"Mommy, I'm tired." Michael says, coming into the living room and sitting in my lap.
"Okay sweetie, do you wanna go home and take a bath?"
"Yes please." He rubs his eye.
"Well it looks like we gotta go." I get up, carrying Michael. "We should do this again sometime."
"We should." Luke says.
I walk out to our car and wave once more at Luke. I strap Michael into his car seat and get in the drivers seat.
"So what did you guys do?" I ask.
"We played with her ponies and dolls and cars." He says. "Then we talked about my daddy and her mommy."
"Oh really?" I was slightly taken aback.
"Yeah. She really wants a mommy and I really want a daddy."
"I know you want Luke and I to get together... But sweetie, it might just not happen. Dating isn't really our focus right now."
"But you guys talk so well together."
"We've talked twice, once was in a grocery store."
"But-"
"Michael. I'm sorry."
"It's fine."

I don't even know. Tara had a good idea but I feel like I butchered it. I had hella bad writers block so I was kinda forcing the words to come out instead of letting it naturally happen. I might rewrite this chapter but for now let your imagination do what it will.
