It was about 1:30 and Jaycee was supposed to be at work until ten. Jack figured he'd only be a couple of hours, so he didn't leave her a note.

He got in his car and drove over to Felix's place.

Jack was driving and he didn't notice a stop sign to his right. He also didn't notice the black car that hit the side of his car.

His car was thrown sideways into a ditch. It flipped over three times before coming to a stop. Jack saw sirens moments before he passed out.

"Jack?" He heard someone say. The voice sounded familiar, but he couldn't place it.

"Hi..?" He replied.

He heard a nurse whisper to the woman. He didn't hear anything except the words, "Memory Loss", "Crash", and loud sobbing afterwards. At this point, he decided to open his eyes.

He saw a woman with brown hair and brown eyes.

"Jack," The woman said, still crying.

"That's me right?" He asked.

The woman whimpered and said, "Yeah, you are. Well, you're actually Sean, but you go by Jack,"

"What happened? Who are you?" He paused as two men came through the door. "Who are they?"

The two men walked over to the bed and the nurse explained, once again, the situation.

"Jack," The woman paused. "I'm Jaycee, your girlfriend,"

"And I'm Felix, your best friend,"

"And I'm Ken, your other best friend,"

"Oh," Jack said.

"Um..." Jaycee said. "You were driving and a car hit you and.." She was crying too much to finish.

"Memory loss?" Jack asked.

"How did you know?" Felix asked.

"I think I'd remember my girlfriend,"

//Time skip\\

A month later, Jack still couldn't remember. Jaycee, Felix, and Ken had been talking about taking him back.

"Jack?" Jaycee said.

"Yeah?"

"Get into the car,"

"Why?"

"I know what might help you remember,"

Jaycee knew he wouldn't remember the inside, but he'd sure as hell remember the roof, even if it had been five months. Jaycee had talked to Felix and Ken, and they were going to be on the roof for safety.

They got to the hotel.

"Jaycee?" Jack said.

"Yeah,"

"Why are we here?"

"You'll see,"

They took the elevator up to the roof. Jack looked at Jaycee, then at the roof.

"M-Mark..!" Jack cried out from behind the man.

"Jack?" Mark said, turning around.

"Are you really fuckin' surprised to see me? I'm your best friend,"

"J-Jack, please... Let me do this."

"No, Mark! Don't do it!," Jack cried out. He was walking toward him as fast as he could. "I fuckin' love you, Mark! You can't!"

"I love you too, Jack," Mark said, turning back around. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry..."

Time seemed to slow down. Jack was running as fast as he could towards Mark. He heard the door to the roof open behind him. He didn't even look at who it was. He didn't even care. As he was running, he heard someone chasing him. Jack just ran faster, faster. He jumped to grab Mark's hand. He missed by inches as Mark threw himself off the roof. Jack probably would have done the same if it weren't for Felix grabbing his hand before he could.

"I remember," Jack said.

He ran to the edge of the roof. Felix and Ken weren't fast enough. Jaycee was. She got Jack before he jumped.

"Mark!" He yelled

"Jack," Jaycee said.

Jack realized that he got his memory back for a reason. He decided he was lucky. And suddenly, dying didn't seem like something he wanted to do.
