the next party that taeyong attended was that of his own. taeyong and his family settled on a girl that he would marry and produce an heir to. that party was to announce the engagement.
although it was taeyong's party, he wasn't happy--not at all. he left his soon-to-be-wife alone in the center of the ballroom, she didn't mind as she loved attention. men of all different ages were trying to talk to her, to which she responded happily.
his gaze turned to the front door as miyoung and doyoung entered with their families following behind happily. the young couple looked comfortable with each other, even sharing a few smiles and laughs occasionally.
taeyong's fiancee soon walked up to him at the bar at sat down next to him. "you know, when our fathers first introduced us, i wasn't told that you have a drinking problem." she ordered a martini for herself as taeyong took another sip of his whiskey.
"i don't." the man huffed as he pushed his finished glass on the table. he stood up and fixed his suit, "i'm perfectly fine. now would you like to get back to the party or go back to your buffet of men?"
taeyong's wife smirked at his snarky comment and slipped off the stool to wrap her arm around his as taeyong led the two back to the party.
taeyong caught a glimpse of miyoung as she looked down at their intertwined arms. taeyong smirked before bringing his fiancee closer to his body. he whispered in her ear, "don't move but there is someone watching us and i want to give them a show."
she leaned back up and smiled cunningly at the man, "don't worry, i'm always up to give anyone a free show..." she pulled down taeyong's tie to her height and kissed him tenderly in front of everyone.
"w-well, that spills the beans." taeyong's father chuckled from behind the couple. "let us wish these two a happy and prosperous marriage!" the people in the ballroom began clapping in delight before returning to their own matters.
taeyong turned his head to look for miyoung but she was already gone. he felt a tap on his shoulder and saw miyoung standing there with a small smile on her flustered face. "excuse me, may i talk to him real quick?"
taeyong's fiancee nodded her head before turning to him, "i will be over by the bar okay oppa?" she said before kissing him on the cheek for extra measures. taeyong noticed that miyoung shifted her gaze awkwardly away from the couple.
"what is it that you want miyoung?" taeyong asked harshly. the girl before him flinched slightly before grabbing his arm and taking him to a more private place to talk.
"i-i didn't know you were getting married oppa..." she smiled timidly. taeyong almost broke his cold facade at her warm smile. "a lot can happen within two weeks."
"yes well, i am a grown man. it was about time i found someone that i love to settle down with." at the mention of the word love, miyoung stopped a little bit. her wide eyes glancing up at taeyong's. she turned her head to the floor before a chuckle left her lips.
"love? you already love her?" miyoung whispered, "isn't it funny how you love someone else so quickly after being in love with me for over five years?" taeyong faltered at miyoung's sly remark.
he cleared his throat before putting a deceiving smirk on his face, "things change miyoung, sorry to break it to you." taeyong turned around to leave but not before turning his head to glance at her over his shoulder, "why do you care anyways if i love her, don't you already have doyoung--or should i say sicheng?"
