The familiar ringing voice was mostly blurred by the sounds of the screaming people in the stands. Then when the voice got close enough, I could hear it nearly clear. I tilted my head up, just enough for my eyes to peek above the beak of the cap. Chloe stood there laughing her head off.

"What's a wannabe like you, doing at a popular teen hot spot?" She asked, giggling a little, because she thought she offended me so terribly, but she really didn't. I scoff, and stand up, wiping most ot the nacho cheese off while thinking of a comeback.

"I could ask you the same thing? Because, news flash honey, you gotta be liked to be popular." I say, and she gasps and crossed her arms, like she usually does when she's in shock. "Everyone likes me." She said, before another similar voice speaks out of the crowd. "Not everyone!" And the person throws their cheese fries at Chloe, making her covered in cheese as well. I chuckled a little, while the person walked up to me. Alex Wolff. My other guy friend.

"Nice one Alex," I say with my smart mouth, while Alex nods with the proudest smile spreading on his face, "makes her look even uglier." Chloe gasps again, and marches off and leaves the stadium completely. We laugh for a bit, before we actually start talking to one other. "Thanks." I say.

"So what are you doing here? You hate racing." I asked, confusingly. And he shrugs before finally answering my question. "My brother took a job to volunteer at today's race, serving food to people." I nod. "Now how about we get you cleaned up, because as one of your friends I am obligated to tell you when you look like shit." He continued, and I smiled and agreed to go with him.

We went into the small, boys locker room smelling, unisex (gender) bathroom. Then walked over to the sink and ran some warm water, whilst Alex went to go grab a cardboard brown paper towel. He placed it on the palm of his hand, and then let the warm water soak it, then he squeezed it til it was damp, but not dripping and offered to wipe my face clean, and I let him.

"Hey, can I tell you something?" I asked, hoping he'd say "yes", and he did. "Today out in the stands, I heard Chloe call Griffin "baby", do you have a idea of why she would do that?" I say, and he looks down and plays with the dirty towel that is trapped between his fingers, before replying.

"Um..."
