"Shit, Hailee, I'm sorry." He says, he started to lean in, probably wanting to kiss me so I could forgive him. But something didn't add up, he doesn't even like Chloe, so why would he call me that. "Wait, why did you call me Chloe?"
"Babe, it was an accident, I'm-" the sound of his phone ringing cut him off. He got up to go see what it was. That's weird, usually when that happens, he would continue to let it ring and stay with me. Is he cheating on me? No, don't think like that. Asa wouldn't do that. Dammit Hailee, stop jumping to conclusions. I heard him whisper into the phone, he wouldn't do that. He's acting a little strange.
He hung up, and came back into the room where I was. "Sorry, it was a new friend. He asked to come to my house and play video games." I nodded. "What's his name?" I asked, not trying to be nosey but to start up and little conversation. "Josh." He said. I smiled. "I also have some news." I looked down at my white Converse shoes.
"What's wrong? You seem sad." He asked, in a concerning tone. "The dick fired me. Now I have to find another job." I say, looking back up into Asa's beautiful blue eyes.
"I'm so sorry, but honestly. I didn't like him from the start. But you'll get a new job, I know it." He smiled down and kissed me like he was gonna do before. I let him this time, and smiled afterwards. I looked at his digital clock. 6 P.M. "Hey, I gotta go. I have got things to do."
"Alright. Let me walk you out?" He asked, "sure." I replied.
We walked to his front door, and he, as the gentleman, opened it for me and led me outside. "Thanks." I say, being appreciative of the little sweet deed he has done. "You're welcome. Hey call me or text me when you get home, I wanna see if you get there alright. I love you, Haiz." He said, giving me another quick kiss before shutting the door.
I turned around and walked down the stairs, my eyebrows were furrowed. That's weird as well, he usually would give me a ride, stop close by my house (my parents haven't met him yet) and drop me off. Not walk me out and have me walk home by myself. He isn't acting like the Asa I know. Maybe it's nothing.
