LAYLA'S POV

While walking home from the guild I thought about Natsu. Was it my fault he never talked anymore? Why he hardly ever ate or always went on solo missions?

The more I thought about it the more guilty I felt. It was my fault. I was taken away from him and the rest of the guild in the worst way possible. There was no way that any of them would not have been affected by that.

But now I am back, so I have a chance to set things right. I thought, trying to be optimistic.

When I got to my appartment I changed into my sleepwear and got into bed. With one last thought about how I was going to make things better for the fairy tail guild, I fell asleep.

"Good morning everyone!" I yelled as I entered thr guild hall. "Good Morning layla!" they all shouted back.

I walked straight to the request board to see if there were and jobs that I could get Natsu to do with me. I saw one that required fighting bandits and I thought that Natsu would like to do it, and if he didn't.... I would drag him along anyway.

Just as I thought that I heard the guild doors opening. I turned my head to see who it was and saw that it was Natsu, who walked straight to the bar. Mira followed him a few seconds after, and was instantly surrounded by people, all probably asking about Natsu.

I walked over to Natsu and said "Good morning Natsu!" I guess I caught him by suprise because his head shot up and he stared at me. I had to supress a laugh.

"I hope you slept well?" I asked him, and he nodded his head. I smiled and said "Good! I'm glad!"

Natsu pointed to me and I guesses what he was asking. "How did I sleep?" he nodded once again. "Well, I slept as well as I could in a new apartment. I'm still getting used to it." I answered honestly.

Suddenly a huge smile appeared on Natsu's face. I stared at him before a giggle made its way past my lips. That was the smile that I knew so well! "I like your smile! You should smile more often!" I stated after I stopped laughing.

Suddenly I remembered my idea to take him on a mission with me. Well, better now than never! I thought. "Hey Natus!" I called, pulling him out of his thoughts. "Lets go on a mission together!"

As soon as I said that his eyes got wide. And the whole guild got quiet waiting for his answer. Apperantly they had all heard me when I asked my question.

After few seconds Natsu nodded his head, and I felt myself beam. I looked around quickly and noticed that everybody else in the quild hall were grinning as well.

"I'm glad you agreed, cause I already have one picked out." I said, showing him the job request. "I know you will like it." he looked over the paper and smiled, telling me he approved of the job. "Great!" I cheered, taking the paper from him and giving it to Mira. Mira stamped the paper and said "good luck you two!" "thanks!" I replied, taking the paper back from her.

"Come on Natsu!" I said, dragging Natsu behind me. As we exited the quild I heard everybody wishing us good luck.

"First stop, your house!" I said, heading to were Natsu lived. "We might be gone a few days so pack a few sets of clothes." i told him opening the house and pusing him into his room.

I sat in the living room for a few minutes waiting for him to finish his packing. Finally he came out of his room carrying a bag on his back.

"Allright!" i exclaimed, standing up. Now to my apartment so I can pack!" I walked out of Natsu's house knowing that he b would follow me. When we got there Natus's eyes weidened. I smiled knowing full well what he was thinking.

"You can just stay here until I am ready I told him, then walked into my room. I packed a few sets of clothes that included an extra cloak and an extra mask just incase. Then I made sure I had enough Jewel to pay for a meal and a hotel room for both of us.

I walked back into the living room to see Natsu still sitting there. "Okay, I am ready. Lets go!" i headed out the building and toward the train station.
I saw Natsu hesitate when he saw where I was headed. "Oh!" I suddenly remembered what I had gotten for Natsu. "I got you a present Natsu!" I rummaged through my bag until I found it. "Here!" I handed Natsu a necklace that had a dragon on it. Natsu just stared at it then back at me. "It will help with your motion sickness." I explained. As soon as I said that he slipped the necklace over his head and ran toward the train station, no doubt eager to try this new magic item.

Sure enough, Natsu did not feel sick when the train started moving. I watched him looking out of the window watching as the world went by, gripping the necklace that was around my neck, grateful that I had it right then. It was just like Natsu's necklace: it took away my motion sickness as well.

I smiled to myself at the reminder that I now had motion sickness too. Who knew that I was a dragon slayer as well? I only found out a few years ago, and spent these last years training so I could protect my friends when I returned to fairy tail.

I let my mind wander as I remembered all the good times I had at fairy tail.

A few hours later we arrvied at the town where the person who sent the job request lived. We wandered through the town looking for his house, and after a few minutes we found it.

It was a run down small wooden house painted white, with a warm glow coming from inside. The sun had set a while ago so the little cottage looked very inviting.

We went up to the door and I knocked. A little woman opened the door and said "oh! You must be the wizards from fairy tail, am I correct?" she waited for conformation so I nodded my head. "Yes ma'am, we are." I showed her my guild mark on the back of my hand to prove it.

"Oh good!" the woman sighed in relief. "Come inside. My husband is waiting for you."

She lead us through the house to what I assumed to be the living room. There was a couch and a few chairs surroundung a coffee table. In one of the chairs sat an old man reading a newspaper. He looked up when we walked into the room and raised an eyebrow, silently asking who we were.

"Honey, these are the wizards from fairy tail." the woman said.

"Oh! Then please have a seat." the man gestured to the couch and chairs.  Me and Natsu sat down on the couch.

"Thank you so much for coming." the man said gratefully. "It's no problem sir." I replied.

"So I suppose you know why I sent the job request." I nodded once in conformation. "Good. But I suppose I should explain everything to you in more detail. Well, you know that this village is attacked by bandits every night. They are not a very big group, but even so, they are strong. Not even our villages strongest men could stop them. They are all in the hospital right now." " we will be able to take them down sir. I can guarantee it!" I said confidently. I looked over at Natsu and nudged him, and he nodded his head.

"Very good then. I will pay you when you have gotten rid of these bandits." "Thank you sir. We will be going then." I said standing up. I walked over to the door where the little woman was holding two bags with food in them. "You didn't have to ma'am." i said, but I took the bag anyway. " Well, I might as well take care of the people who are taking care of our village." she relied back. "Thank you ma'am" I said as I walked out. Natsu took his bag from her and followed me out.

I sat on a roof of a house waiting for the bandits to come, knowi.g they would attack at night. We were there for a few hours when I saw a shadow run past us. I knew it was the bandits. "Come on Natsu!" I whispered. "Lets go!"

We took off after the bandits and i felt adrenaline pumping through my veins in anticipation to the fight that was coming up.

Time to whip some bandit butt!
