Layla's POV
"It all started when I was fighting a monster with my comrades. I am not going to tell you about the details about the fight, because that will give away too much, but I will tell you how I almost died." I took a deep breath. " I fell off a cliff after taking a fatal hit."
I heard gasps all around. "But then how are you still alive, child?" I heard Master ask. "A dragon saved me." I relied simply. I heard whispers all around. "A dragon?" "That can't be possible. All dragons dissapeared a long time ago!"
"I assure you I am telling the truth. The dragon who saved me was Nova, the Celestial dragon. She saw the whole thing, and she caught me before I could hit the bottom. She took me to a cave and took care of me until I was better.
"After I was healed, Nova explained everything to me. She said she had been watching me for a while, and she decided to teach me Celestial dragon slayer magic, because, and I quote, 'I have a pure enough heart that I could handle the power of it'. So I started training. It took me a few years to learn it, and once I had, she gave me an offer I could mot refuse. She told me that I was strong enough to become one of the dragon knights."
"What are the dragon knights?" asked Grey. I chuckled. "I suppose it makes sense that you have not heard of the dragon knights. The dragon knights are a small group of people that have been deemed "worthy" enough to live among the dragons, and train with them. Ugh I hate that word. "Worthy" it makes me sound so full of myself" I Muttered that last part, then shuddered. Everyone apperantly heard me though, because they all chuckled.
"Anyway, the point of the Dragon Knights, is so they can protect the world from evil, and when I say evil, I mean evil so powerful that not even normal wizards can stop it."
Once again, a gasp went through the crowd. "Does that mean that, since you are here with us, evil to that extremity is coming?" Master asked. I sighed. "Yes it does. I was sent down to protect you from whatever is coming." an uneasy silence fell over the place. "Do you know what is coming?" "I do not. I just know that all the dragons asked me personally to protect you all. So protect you I shall." I slipped into a more regal way of talking, how I would talk to the dragons.
All of the wizards stared at me, and I noticed they were all looking at me with respect, like I was some kind of hero.
"W-whoa guys, what's with those looks? Im still me, so there is no need for any of that!" I said while waving my hands in front of me.
Everyone snapped out of it and started laughing at my uneasiness. "Wow, that is certainly a story you don't hear everyday..." erza chuckled. " Well, everybody dismissed!" I jokingly yelled. The crowd dissipated, and I could tell they were all trying to process the information I had just given them. What they didn't know was that that was only half of the story.
I sighed and ran my hand down my face, suddenly exhausted. I wandered over to the bar and asked mira for a strawberry milkshake. "Coming right up!" mira replied cheerfully. A few minutes later mira placed the milkshake in front of me. I took a sip of it and moaned in happiness.
"Wait a minute!" someone in the guild yelled. "Has anyone else realized that we have another dragon slayer!?" "oh yea, your right!" someone else yelled. "We really are the most powerful guild ever! Now we have five dragon slayers! Natsu, Gajeel, Wendy, Laxus, and Layla!" "This calls for a party!" "yea!" everyone cheered.
Soon a party was in full swing. I was still sitting at the bar, looking around at everyone. Natsu and Grey were fighting, Cana was drinking beer, levy was trying to get her book back from Gajeel, and Erza was eating her strawberry cake. "Man I missed this! I am glad to be back!" I shouted in happiness. Everyone paused to look at me and smiled. "Well, don't have too much fun without me!" I joked and ran in to join the fun.
