NATSU'S POV
I stared out of the window of train, the whole ride back, completely lost in thought. I could not believe that Layla was a dragon slayer! From what I gathered, she was a Celestial Dragon slayer, but that's all the information I had on her.

She obviously learned it from a dragon, so there was not any point in asking where she learned it. The question was where her dragon was. Did she learn it recently, or a long time ago? If she learned it recently, her dragon must be alive! If her dragon is alive then that must mean Igneel is alive! But if she learned it a long time ago, she may not know where her dragon is either, or if he or she is even alive.

It went like this for the next few hours. I would ask myself a question, answer it positively, get my hopes up, then shoot it down with a negative answer. I just stated at the scenery, not really seeing it, until Layla interrupted the silence.

"I'm sorry Natsu. You must hate me now." she sighed. I gave her a confused look. Why would I be mad at her? She got the message and continued.

"Before, I did not tell you that I was a dragon slayer because I wanted it to be a surprise. I wanted to show you how strong I was in a fight. But now, looking back on it, I should have told you when I first met you. If I had, you might know where Igneel is now."

My eyes widened. So she did know something! I gave her a look that told her to keep going.

"I will tell you what I should have told you when you met. Mind you I will not tell you everything about me, but I will tell you how I found the dragons, and where they are now." leaned forward, eager to hear what information she has.

"It all started with my almost death. I am not going to tell you how I almost died, but I will tell you that Nova, my celestial dragon, saved my life. When she found me, I was very injured and had passed out from blood loss. So she took me to the dragon relm to see if Grandeeny, Wendys dragon, could heal me. Obviously she could." Layla chuckled.

"The dragon realm is where the dragons live. It was there that Nova decided to train me to become a celestial dragon slayer. I spent many years training there, until she decided that I was able to come back to Earthland." she finished. "So that's my story."

We sat there in silence for a few minutes, me processing what she just said.

"By the way, Igneel wants to see you." she said, completely taking me by surprise. "If you want that is..." she trailed off, waiting for my answer.

I nodded vigorously, imagining what my reunion with igneel would be like. I had a ton of questions to ask him. Questions like where did he go, and why did he leave? Maybe he could even answer my questions about Layla!

"Alright! I will send him a message letting him know you would like to see him as well." she smiled a closed eye smile at me, and I blushed.

We talked the rest of the train ride home. Well, she talked, and I listened, and occasionally smiled and nodded or shook my head.

When we got back to magnolia, we both got our bags and clambered off the train. "Lets drop our things off at our homes, then head back to the guild! Ill meet you at doors of the guild, okay?" I nodded my head in response and smiled. She smiled back then headed to her apartment. I watched her walk away then started hauling my things to my house.

I got there fairly quickly. I put my things in my room, got a drink and a little snack to eat on the way, and left. I walked towards the guild, barely noticing that people were giving me weird looks.

When I got close enough to see the guild doors I could see Layla waving at me, yelling at me to hurry up.

Suddenly I got a very nostalgic feeling, and I remembered Lucy doing that exact same thing. At first I felt sad about remembering that, but then I felt a burst of happiness for a reason unknown to me.

Then I did something I had not done in a very long time. I ran to Layla, and grabbed her hand. then I ran to the guild doors and kicked them opening while yelling "Were back!"
