Two loud screams resounded in the small room, as I let my head fall back on the pillow. Aaron kissed my hand at least a million times, then he leaned over me and kissed my forehead. "You did it, Scar. You did! I am so proud of you!", he said and kissed me gently. I smiled, but was too exhausted to reply the kiss. "Are... are they okay...?", I asked a little out of breath and looked at the midwife. She was wrapping a tiny bundle into a blue and the other one into a pink towel. "They are very healthy.", she said smiling and brought them over to us.
I reached out my arms a bit and she carefully laid the two screaming babies into my arms. I smiled widely at them.
My God, they were so tiny. And so helpless.
And perfect...
Aaron kissed my head and smiled at them. "My God, they are perfect.", he whispered. I nodded slightly and kissed their foreheads, making them calm down. "Welcome in our little family.", I said smiling. "Can I hold one of them?", Aaron asked a little unsure and looked at me. I giggled quietly and carefully gave him our little speckle girl. "Of course, they're also yours.", I said smiling and stroked over my speckle boy's cheek. His mouth opened widely into an O form. I giggled and tapped his nose. "Tired, my little boy?"
Aaron smiled widely and kissed our speckle girl's forehead. "Hey Aaron?", I asked, still looking at the little boy in my arms. "Yes, Scarlett?" He looked at me for a second, then back at our girl. "I think I have ideas for their names.", I said and smiled. "And they would be?" I smiled and kissed my boy's forehead.
"I like George for the boy and Natalie for the girl." I looked up at Aaron. "I mean we never would have met without them." Aaron looked at me and smiled widely. "That's a perfect idea."
George lifted his hand and I laid my finger in it. He squeezed my finger and I kissed his tiny hand. "My little boy.", I whispered and kissed his hand again. I looked at Aaron, who kissed Natalie's forehead again. "And what about Posie and Stanley as second names?", I asked. Aaron looked at me with big eyes.
"Really?", he breathed. I nodded smiling. "Scar, you are the best!", he said with a huge smile around his lips, then kissed my forehead. "My parents will be more than happy!", he said, making me smile widely.
"They are really here.", I said quietly and stroked George's cheek. "They are finally here. We are parents." Aaron smiled and kissed my head again.
"Our perfect speckles are finally with us.", he whispered.
I smiled and for this short moment nothing could ruin my enormous happiness.
