Chapter 51

Aaron's POV:

My head shot up and I looked at her.
She was awake... She was alive...
"Scar..."
My voice wasn't more than a whisper.
"Hey..." Her voice was weak and broken, but she was alive! My Scar was alive! "Scar..." I had no idea what else to say. My mind was blown empty. She was awake, she was alive, she was safe. It was finally over.
"Oh, Scar...!" I leaned forward and looked into her eyes. They lost almost their entire shimmer, but I still could see a light shine in them. I remembered the hundred deaths I died the last week and now they suddenly seemed to be gone away. Scar looked at me, her eyes were opened, she was awake. I still couldn't believe it. She was back and our babies would have their mother back. They could lay in her arms again. They would stop crying.
It was over. Scar was back. All the pain, the suffering, it was finally over. "Oh, Scar...", I whispered again and kissed her. Her lips were so cold, they didn't feel like her lips. They felt like ice. But my Scar was back.
I had her back...
Finally...

Scarlett's POV:

His lips. His warm lips...
I had him back...
He warmed me...
Finally...
"Aaron..." I couldn't whisper more, my voice was too broken, to weak. "I'm here. Oh, Scar, I'm here and I will never go away." He leaned forward again and kissed me gently. "How do you feel?", he asked me quietly. I shrugged slightly and tried to smile. Aaron's eyes filled with tears that slowly trickled down his cheeks.
I slowly lifted my arm and laid my hand on his cheek. "Don't cry.", I whispered and wiped the tears away with my thumb. "You're back.", Aaron whispered and sobbed quietly. "I am." Aaron sobbed again, then he took my hand in his and kissed it. "Oh, Scar, why did you do this? Why did you risk your life for me? You could have died." His voice broke while he whispered the last words. I looked into his eyes and smiled weakly.
Then I whispered the answer.
"I love you..."
