Chapter 6 - Surpise Surprise

- Abel's POV -

   I ran faster then I think I've ever ran before. It's right behind me, I can't let it get to him. I'll die before it hurts him.

I tripped over an overgrown root sticking up out of the ground, causing me to stumble and fall down a small hill that resulted with me in a pond.

My legs were tangled in moss or something, because I couldn't get out. My whole body was underneath the water. I saw a figure standing at the edge of the pond looking at me, not doing anything to help, just starring.

I reached down to try and get myself untangled and free. I was running out of air and fast, soon the world around me started to go black.

Is this how it's going to end? Me drowning by a plant in a pond?

I looked back up towards the figure and saw it smirk at me and walk away.

With my last breath turning against me, I drowned into a world unknown to me, and for the first time in my life I was scared.

- Jake's POV -

   Abel told me we needed to talk in the morning about my nightmare, but he needs to do some explaining as well. I woke up in the middle of the night to see Abel tossing and turning and gasping for air desperately. I could tell he didn't go back to sleep for the remainder of the night, which in turn caused me not to sleep either. I knew that if I didn't want to talk about my dreams then he wouldn't either.

As long as I can remember Abel has been the type of friend to save everyone except himself. He'll do anything to keep the one's he cares for safe and sound, no matter the cost. So him admitting that he has terrible dreams, when knowing that I do as well, would become a miracle.

   I turned over to look at him and saw him smiling softly at me.

   "What?" I asked him.

   He just smiled, "Nothing, just admiring how cute you are."

   I blushed like crazy and leaned in to kiss him gently and smiled slightly. He pulled back a little less then a minute into the kiss, which was a little disappointing if I do say so myself.

"You ready to talk about your dream?" He asked me.

"Only if you talk to me about yours." I replied back with a hint of a smirk on my face.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean last night, I woke up to see you gasping for breath and tossing and turning. Tell me that wasn't just some dream where everything is sugar and spice and everything nice." I told him.

He sighed and looked down, "It was nothing important."

"Sure it wasn't, then neither was mine. Now can we please go back to kissing or no?" I asked.

He laughed and pecked me on the lips, not exactly what I had in mind. "We have to go see if Alex is up or not, he did come by last night if you remember, or perhaps you were otherwise occupied?" He smirked at this.

I blushed again and playfully pushed him away, getting up and dressed as well. "Fine let's go see what Alex is up to, I think Hunter is suppose to come by sometime today too."

   Abel got up and followed my lead by getting dressed. We then walked out the door one after the other, so we wouldn't get weird looks, just to be safe.

   We came back down to see Alex playing Dark Souls 2 and Hunter playing Dishonored. We walked over and sat down on the couches next to them while I got a Mt Dew to drink.

   "Hey man I thought you were coming later today?" I asked Hunter.

   He paused his game and turned around to face us, "Didn't you know? Shelby is coming back here and wanted us to pick her up at the airport, in about," he looked at the clock, "An hour actually so we best get going."

   We all got into one of the cars and started off to the airport. To say that I was excited was a little of an understatement, Shelby moved away to Texas during her Junior year after one of her younger brothers died of cancer. After high school she went on to college to get her associates degree to become a Vet Tech. Why she wouldn't tell us and just Hunter as to why she was coming back, confused me a lot.

   Whatever the case, I'm just glad that I get my friend, who I consider my sister, back for good this time hopefully.
