Mating Ceremony

I live in a community where everyone is a werewolf. So yes, I am a werewolf too.
I live with my parents, Alison and Dylan. I'm the oldest out of three. My two younger siblings are Bethany who is 15 and Lola who is 12. I am seventeen and just graduated from Wolf High High School.
Oh by the way, my name is Zoey.
So today is the annual Mating Ceremony, where girls ages 15-25 find their mates. The past two years I never found my mate, but I have a feeling this year I will find him.
I am in my room doing my hair and makeup when Bethany barged into my room, "Zo,what am I going to do? I'm so scared. What if I find my mate? What if I don't like him? What if I get abused, if I find my mate?" Bethany was pacing around my room rambling off a bunch of  'what if's.' I finally stopped her.
"Bethany whatever happens you will be fine. Okay?" She nodded, "Okay now go get finished getting ready and then it will be almost time to go." I pushed her out of my room, so we both could finish getting ready.

When I was done, I walked out of my room and downstairs where the rest of my family was waiting for me.
Then first person to see me was my mom, "Oh Zoey, you look amazing. I think this year is your year." My mom always has to make a big fuss over things like this.
"Mom can we just go, so we aren't late, again." I whined.
"Okay." My mom said and then we got in the car to head to the Alpha's house.
Our Alpha is Alpha Luke Parks. His mate and our Luna is Luna Carrie Parks. Their eldest child is my age. His name is Joey Parks. Then Joey has three younger siblings, Austin who is 15, Becca who is 13 and Ty who is 10.
Joey is going to be the next Alpha. He hasn't been at the last to mating ceremonies because he has been training to be the next Alpha.

As my family and I got closer, my wolf was talking to me, 'Your mate is here. I can sense it.'
'I hope your right because if your not, I will be really mad at you.'
'Trust me.'
'Okay.' I told my wolf.
We got to the Alpha Luke's house and I started to feel a pair of eyes watching me I turned around, but I didn't see anything. My mate talking link turned on and I heard a voice, 'I have finally found you, my mate. Can I just say you are beautiful.' My so-called mate said.
'Where are you. I want to meet you.' I said.
'Meet me in the garden in the back.'
'Okay.' I started walking when my mom called to me.
"Where are you going sweetie?" She asked me.
"I think I see Haliey. I'll find you later." I turned back around and walked to the garden.
When arrived at the garden, no one was there. I decided to wait a little bit.
Five minutes later my mate link turned back on, 'You look more beautiful up close.' I heard my mate say.
I turned around and saw my mate. He was the soon-to-be-alpha, Joey.
"Wait your my mate?" I asked.
"Yes and you are my mate." Joey came closer to me.
"That means I'm going to be the new Luna."
"Yes." Joey was now right in front of me, looking down at me.
"Wow, I never thought my mate would be the Alpha's son. That'd why I haven't met my mate the last two years."
"I'm so sorry babe. My parents thought it would be a good idea for me to train and get ready to become the Alpha." He said.
"I understand. I can't believe I finally found my mate." I said.
"Me either." He smiled and started leaning in.
Before I knew it, Joey and I were kissing. I loved it. I melted into Joey and kissed back.
We pulled back for oxygen, "That was amazing." Joey told me.
"Yeah, shouldn't we tell Alpha and Luna?"
"I guess that's would be a good idea." Joey and I started walking to try and find Alpha and Luna.
"Wait,how did u know I was here?"
"I could smell ur scent."
I nodded and then entered the ballroom, searching for Alpha Luke and Luna Carrie.
We were by some tables, when I saw Beth and Joey's brother Austin talking, "Hey Beth, Austin." I said and we walked over to them.
"Zo, Hey. I found my mate. It's Austin." She said.
Great Beth. This is my mate, Joey."
"Oh my gosh, that means your going to be the next Luna!" Bethany hugged me.
"Yo Austin, have you seen mom and dad?" Joey asked his brother.
"No, I can't find them."
"Okay, well were trying to find them, so if you see or talk to them tell us."
"Will do." Joey and I walked off talking to people and looking for Alpha and Luna.

It took us a while, but we finally found Alpha Luke  and Luna Carrie.
"Mom, Dad, I would like you to meet my mate. The is Zoey Carter." Joey said.
"Oh Zoey you are absolutely beautiful." Luna Carrie told me.
"Thank you, Luna."
"Oh sweetie, call me Carrie. I'm so glad my Joey has found his mate." Carrie said.
"Welcome to the family. You can call me Luke."
"Okay." I said. "Oh mom, Dad we saw Austin and he has found his mate, too. She is actually Zoey's sister, Bethany." Joey said.
"That's wonderful. I bet she is as beautiful as you, Zoey." Carrie said.
"Well thank you. It was very nice to meet you,now if you would excuse me, I need to go find my family." I left Luke, Carrie, and Joey and headed off to find my parents and sister.

Later that evening, everyone was starting to leave. My parents were talking to Luke and Carrie about us living with our mates.
"So, are you ready to become the new Luna in a month or so?" Joey asked me.
I almost chocked on the water I was drinking, "Um, well I never really thought about it, bit really no. I'm terrified that I won't be a good Luna."
"Zo you will do fine. Remember when we were like 10 and playing school. You were always the principal and took charge."
"Yeah, but that was a game. This is real life."
"Zoey don't doubt yourself. You will be a perfect Luna." Joey leaned down and kissed my forehead.
"Okay kids, you are going to sleep in your regular houses tonight. Then tomorrow, Joey, you and Austin will go over to the girls house and help pack clothes and anything else they will need and want to have here." We all nodded at what Luke told us.
"See you tomorrow baby." Joey said and kissed me.
"See you tomorrow." I said and then left with the rest of my family.
