One Year Later

Today is mine and Joey's one year anniversary and we are having a bug celebration.
I'm in my room with Bethany and Carrie, getting ready for the party. Joey, Luke, and Austin are all in Austin's room getting ready.
" I can't believe it has been a year since the marriage and the ceremony." Carrie said as she was helping me with my hair.
"I know right. I can't believe I'm married to the Alpha and I'm the new Luna. I always thought I would find a mate and be under command of the Alpha, not be married to the Alpha." I told my sister and mother-in-law.

"Yea I would never have imagined having my mate being part of the Alpha family." Bethany agreed with me and working on her make-up.

"You have grown to be a beautiful, amazing women." I told Bethany. 

"Thank you, so have you." 

"Mom would have been so proud of you." Bethany turned to me. I could see tears forming in her eyes, so I opened my arms and she fell right into them. 

"Shh, don't cry and ruin your beautiful make-up that you did." I comforted her.

"I know, I just miss them so much." she said through her sobs.

"I do too, but we have to live each and everyday and leave the past behind us."

"Okay girls, lets finish getting ready, so we are not late." Carrie told us. We agreed and then finished getting ready.

Carrie, Bethany, and I were all done getting ready, we made our way downstairs, where Luke, Joey, and Austin were.

We get to the bottom of the stairs, I looked up at Joey and saw him staring right at me. He smiled and started to walk over to me. 

"You look beautiful." Joey slipped his arm around my waist and kissed my forehead.

"Thank you. You don't look bad yourself." I said.

"Okay love birds, lets get going, so the company doesn't wonder where we all are." Austin said and we all started laughing. 

When we entered the ballroom everyone's attention turned to us. By now I was used to everyone's eyes being on me, so I didn't have a problem with it. We made our way to the stage. 

"We are here today to celebrate the one year anniversary or Joey and Zoey Parks of being together and being the new Alpha and Luna of the Pack." Luke told everyone and they all clapped and cheered. "To start out this celebration we will eat and talk. Then we will be opening up the dance floor to anyone who wants to dance." We made our way to the buffet line.

"You know were going to be dancing tonight." Joey whispered in my ear. 

"Totally, why wouldn't we." I looked up at Joey with a smile.

"Good, just making sure." 

We made our was to the table that is reserved for us. 

Once we were done eating, the dance floor was open and Joey and I went to join the other people, who were already out there. 

The whole night, Joey and I were dancing with Beth and Austin and having an amazing time. Until a guard of the pack came rushing in and to the stage. 

"HEY EVERYBODY!!!!!" he started to yell into the mic, "WE just spotted rouges at the edge of our territory. WE need all the best men in the town to help us fight." Joey looked at me and started to leave. I started to follow him, but he stopped me from going any farther.

"Zoey, you are not to come with."

"I'm the Luna and I get to go if I want."

"We can't have our baby getting hurt if you go. Stay here with my mom and Beth and take care of our little one."

"Wait, how did you know about the baby. I never told anyone?" 

"I have my sources. Zo, you can't keep secrets from me. Tell my mom and Beth please." I nodded at his his request and then he rushed away to fight.

The room was cleared out pretty fast. Most of the men in our town left to go fight, so it was mostly women in the room. I started to look around for Beth and Carrie. I found them talking with some of the women in our town about getting the hospital area ready.

"Beth, Carrie, can I talk to you two?" I asked.

"Yeah Zoey what's wrong?" Carrie asked.

"Well, I found about this two weeks or so ago. I'm pregnant." I told them.

"Oh gosh, that is wonderful. How far are you?" Carrie asked as we made our way up to my room.

"I think about two months." 

"Wait, I am gonna be an aunt?" Beth said as we made our way into my room.

"Yes."

"Oh my gosh, I can't believe it." Beth started to get excited and hug me.

"Me either. Joey found out somehow because I never told him yet. I think he saw the pregnancy test in the trash." I told them.

"This is great news." Carrie said.

"Yeah, but I told Joey, that i wanted to fight. He won't let me because he thinks I am gonna get hurt." 

"Zoey, you can't fight when your pregnant. It's too dangerous. Get some rest and we will report back to you about what is going to happen to the men as they are going to fight." I nodded and waited for them to get out and then changed into pajamas and fell asleep.
