Broken Record- Dani Cimorelli (Fanfic)

Part 12

3 days later

Cole's POV

It's been a few days since Dani and I went to the wedding. I've been busy with basketball practice the past few nights but today I finally have a day off. Since I did, I wanted to spend time with her. So I grabbed my phone and started to type a message.

Cole- So how much begging is it going to take for me to get you to come watch a scary movie with me?

Dani- There not enough begging in the world that could get me to watch a scary movie!

Cole- Come on! I'll make crepes! And I make amazing crepes too so you don't want to turn them down!

Dani- I HATE SCARY MOVIES COLE

Cole- I KNOW DANIELLE BUT YOU DONT HATE ME SO COME WATCH A SCARY MOVIE AND EAT CREPES WITH ME

Dani- I will die! I don't think you understand!

Cole- How about you come and watch the scary movie and then after I will watch any chick flick that your heart desires

Dani- If I come over I'm probably just going to be covering my eyes the whole time, so be prepared

Cole- Deal

Cole- Besides you won't even be focused on the movie. Because I'm an awesome cook so you will only be focused on the amazing food I make

Dani- Alright if your cooking is as good as you say it is then I can't pass it up... I'm on my way😊

I smiled down at my phone and walked to the kitchen. I started making the food so that once she was over here she would be able to eat.

I mixed the batter I needed together and turned the stove on. I had finished making all the food by the time I heard her car pulling up into my driveway.

Just a few moments later I heard a couple of light knocks on my front door. I walked over and opened it up for her.

Cole- "Hey." I said with a wide smile.

Dani- "Hey!" She said happily.

Cole- "I like you so much that I made dessert crepes. And if you don't like chocolate and strawberry crepes then there's something wrong with you because that is not normal."

Dani- "Spoiling me because you are about to give me nightmares?" She said jokingly.

Cole- "You won't have nightmares! And if you really can't fall asleep tonight then you can call me and I will stay on the phone with you until you do. Deal?"

Dani- "Deal. I'm ready to eat and be terrified." She said while laughing.

I went back to the kitchen and grabbed our plates and then walked into my living room. I turned on the movie Strangers and say on the couch beside Dani.

While we were eating and the movie started I spoke up.

Cole- "Can I tell you a secret and you promise not to make fun of me?"

Dani- "Yeah what is it?"

Cole- "I actually hate watching scary movies by myself. I won't do it because I get to scared. But if I'm with someone then I feel better. So secretly I'm just as scared as you are, I just take it better and make it seem like I'm not scared."

Dani- "So you are scared of scary movies but you still watch them?! Why?!" She asked while looking at me like I was crazy.

Cole- "Because I like being scared! Like how often in life do you really feel scared? Like truly scared."

Dani- "All the time! You never feel scared?"

Cole- "Not really. I mean some things do. Like I have fears but I feel like there are different kinds of fear."

Dani- "What do you mean?"

Cole- "Like I'm scared of scary movies but scary movies is a completely different kind of fear then my real fears."

Dani- "What are your real fears?"

Cole- "Not meeting people's expectations of who I'm supposed to be. I don't really know how to explain it. I guess it's just like the feeling that even if I give everything that I can, it still won't be enough....And that scares me... That my best just won't add up."

Dani- "I'm kind of surprised. I didn't expect that to be what you were afraid of."

Cole- "What about you? What are you afraid of?"

Dani- "Losing the people I love... People walking out of my life unexpectedly. I don't know. I guess it's just people leaving that scares me."

Cole- "I'm kind of surprised too." I said genuinely.

Dani- "Surprised that my fear is people leaving?"

Cole- "Yeah. Really surprised actually."

Dani- "Why is that?"

Cole- "I don't know... I guess, I just think it would take a really stupid person to willingly walk out of your life. I don't know why anyone would want to leave you behind." She looked down at her hands.

Dani- "It's more common than you'd think."

Cole- "Well I know that the only reason I'd leave you behind right now is if you asked me too. But otherwise, you're stuck with me. You can't get rid of me now." She smiled slightly to herself as she looked up at Mrs

Dani- "Good, cause I was kind of hoping you would stick around."
