One For The Road - Alex Turner fanfiction

Cara.

"Cara? Who's Cara Matt?" Alex quickly spluttered. "Yeah Matt, who's Cara?" i replied, mimicking Alex. "Al are you serious, Cara your crazy ex, the one you broke up with a week ago?" Alex shot Matt a glare, and buried his face in his hands, then let out a sigh as if to say "god damnit Matt". "Oh, Cara! Goody, a crazy ex." I said to Alex, Who looked as unimpressed as ever.

"hahaha yeah about that... uh i dunno." Alex chuckled. Alex and Matt then walked off as they were already late to start practicing for the 'world tour'. I stood frozen for a moment, then let out a groan and followed them to the Standing area of the event, where I pulled up a chair, and decided to surf twitter, whilst Matt was making a racket on his drumset, as per usual.

As i looked on twitter, the jealousy from within me leaked out a little, and i decided to look on Alex's old tweets to Cara, and look at who this girl was. She was brown haired, quite plump, brown eyed, and had very defined facial features. She had tweeted yesterday saying "I hate ex's, they move on so fast!!!" this was obviously about me & Alex, so i decided to bite back and write a tweet about her "@disfordang3rous: i hate clingy ex's, jeez live a little!" i wrote this, only intending for simple banter, and no arguments..

As the morning drew to the early evening, rehearsal had finished and Alex took me to meet the rest of the 'lads'. Nick saw me first, walked up to me and gave me a hug, and introduced himself, shortly after followed Jamie, who also hugged me and asked how i was, i replied with a "im good thank you! yourself?" and he smiled, nodded and walked away to talk to Matt.

Alex then ran up behind me, without me noticing, and hugged me from behind. i did not hug him back, as i decided to try my best of be 'off' with him, to see if he notices. As soon as he released me from the hug, i walked off, to the refreshment stand, and started chewing on a triangle of a ham sandwich. I could feel Al's eyes watching me, but i did not give in to temptation.

The car journey home was awkward, and quiet. The radio was on, but it was still an uncomfortable silence. We pulled up to my apartment and i quickly rushed into the place first, rushing upstairs, to draw a bath, so i could escape more awkward silences. Alex followed in after, closing the door and kicking his shoes off.

As my bath drew, i got in it, not caring how hot it was, as i was too busy thinking about how much trouble ex's are. As i was deep in though, Alex burst into the bathroom, and sat on the edge of the bath, staring at me. I stared at him back, widening my eyes, and then he planted a soft kiss on my lips, me being me, of course i gave in, kissing him back. "s'matter babe?" he asked with a gentle tone to his voice. "Cara, god damn Cara." i replied, with a childish tone to my voice, as i crossed my arms and pouted. Alex's face got serious "W-what about her?" i could tell he was getting uncomfortable.

"I just hate ex's." i announced. "She's not that bad Meg,c'mon lighten up!" i started getting angry. Why was he protecting the girl that will try and break us up? Ex's of celebrities always do this, and after all it has only been a week.
