Beth drove home and changed her clothes. Naomi and Ruth was off to town and Beth didn't want to go this time. She had a lot to think about and the best time was with her Grandpa. They talked of how she had fallen asleep on the sofa and was helped into bed. "I couldn't believe I did that." Beth said. "Don't take it to hard Beth it wasn't your fault for falling asleep. You were tired from work and than going out to have supper with Sam's folks. Besides Heather is there so it wouldn't look too bad." Gene said. Reassured Beth went to work making a nice supper for her family and Sam who was coming in two hours time. Once the meal was done Beth took a quick shower and changed into a new pair of tan slacks with a deep rose colored sweater. She looked lovely even to Gene's eyes. His granddaughters were beautiful outside as well as inside. How did he get so blessed? Only by the Grace of God.
Sam pulled into the driveway with a bunch of flowers as he walked towards the house. Beth was seated by the window and Sam paused to look at her. She was looking lovely reading a book. He could remember when the first met her nose was in a book that day. How could his feelings for her change so much? "Hi Sam are you coming in or wool gathering?" Mark said. "Sorry Sir, I had a lot on my mind." Sam said. Beth was now at the door glancing up at him. "Hi, how are you?" Beth said. "I am fine, and you how are you doing?" Sam said. He gave her the flowers. Beth stood on tip toe and kissed his cheek. "Thank you for the flowers." Beth said. Beth placed them in water and they all sat down to eat. Naomi and Ruth were finally home from town. "How was your day?' Mark asked. "We had a lot of fun didn't we Naomi?" Ruth said. Naomi shook her head yes and watched as Beth and Sam talked like they were in a world of their own which they were for the moment. "So Sam how was your day?' Ruth asked. "Fine, had a lot of cars come in today." Sam said. "How do you know which one is the most important?" Beth asked. "They are all important I try to work one after the other if I have more hours in the day." Sam said. "You are right about that its like Nursing one Patient comes in another goes." Beth said. They talked of work for awhile than all of them moved to other subjects. "Who wants to watch a movie?" Mark asked. "Why not." Beth said. After the dishes were done with Sam's help they moved towards the living room to watch a Romantic Comedy that her Mom had rented today. It was a good movie and Beth totally relaxed next to Sam who placed an arm around her. Mark did the same to Ruth who was glad to be home once again. Coast Fork was loaded with people and getting the shopping done was a good thing.
The movie ended and Sam had to head for home. Work was the next day as well for Beth. "Thanks for coming out." Beth said. "Are you coming for supper tomorrow or do you have to work?" Sam said. "I have to work and would be glad to have supper again with you and family." Beth said. "I am sure you would." Sam said. "Beth could I kiss you goodnight?" Sam asked. "I would like that.' Beth said. Sam bent his tall frame and kissed Beth softly on the lips. She smiled when Sam's head came up. "That was nice." Beth said. "Thank you have a good night." Sam said. He whistled to his rig and was on his way home once again.
Beth was working hard that morning and was glad when her shift was over. She grabbed her purse and personal things she needed through out the day and was in her rig headed for Creed. Sam was pacing back and forth waiting for Beth. She pulled in ten minutes later and killed the engine. Sam came out and opened the door. "How are you?" Sam said. "Tired." Beth said. Sam helped Beth out of her car and they walked hand in hand into the house. "Hi Beth welcome." Susan said. "Thanks how are you?" Beth said. Her things were placed on the table near the door. "So how was work?" Sam asked. "Busy as usual." Beth said. Her shoulders and neck ached and Sam noticed it right away. He led Beth to sit down and behind her Sam massaged her shoulders and neck. "Thanks that felt good." Beth said. "Your welcome you looked a little tensed after work." Sam said. "I do at times get that way we are rushed off our feet when we get there." Beth said. She talked of her work just for a few moments while Sam talked of his for a few moments. They had a lovely supper together and because Beth didn't want to make the same mistake headed home at a decent hour. "Thanks for having me." Beth said. "I will see you Sunday than." Sam said. "That would be great." Beth said. She was kissed once more and Beth was headed home.
