Jessica was at the Hospital when Beth done with her shift came out the door. "Hi Jessica how are you?" Beth said she stopped to let her pass her. "I am here to see someone." Jessica said. "I won't keep you than." Beth said. Jessica watched as Beth moved away from her. She wanted to get Sam only how to do it she thought. Beth was unaware how much Jessica wanted Sam. She was hoping Jessica was out of the way.
Jake stopped by Harris Hospital to see if Beth was on duty. He had to ask her something only she was not on duty. He noticed a young woman who looked like she was having car trouble. " Need some help?" Jake asked. "Yes, I could my car broke down and I am headed for Creed." Jessica said. She was given him a smile. "I will see if you car needs to be jump started or not." Jake said. The car was not needed to be jump started it was dead. "Could you please take me home please?" Jessica said. She was really laying it thick on him. "Why don't I take you to our house and we can call a tow truck to get your car." Jake said. "Okay that will be fine." Jessica said. Her luck was changing for this man would possible take her to Sam's and he couldn't dare refuse to speak to her.
Sam was pulling into Beth's driveway when he noticed Jake was back from his logging trips he made each year. "Hi Beth how are you?" Sam said. "Tired, I saw Jessica at the Hospital today while going out." Beth said. "Well, maybe she has a relative there." Sam said. "Maybe so." Beth said. They both stepped into the house and there was Jessica standing in her home. Beth groaned not today Lord she thought. "What are you doing here Jessica?" Beth asked. Jake looked at how pale Beth got and Sam was not much better. " Have I missed something here?" Jake asked. "Yes, Jessica used to date my friend Richard." Sam said. "Really I didn't know that." Jake said. He was now glancing at Jessica who was getting uncomfortable. "I thought you were taking me out on a date?" Demanded Jessica. "I don't have time to date." Jake said. He was not in the market for a lady and one that had already been around the mill was Jessica. She was nice enough until she wanted something and he didn't give it to her. "Her car is broke down in Harris Hospital parking lot. Maybe a tow could get her car back to Creed." Jake said. "Sure, I will have Don right on it." Sam said. He called Don and he would have it delivered to his Shop for fixing on Monday morning. Sam was grateful for his boss who knew of a friend to get the car back to where it needed to be. "Why don't I take her home?" Beth said. "Sure, I will follow you." Sam said. So with that Jessica was ushered out the door and Beth was taking her home. Once there Jessica flounced out not very happy with being pushed home. Beth was still in the rig when Sam got out of his truck. "Honey, why don't you come back to my folks home for supper?" Sam said. "Sure, I would like that." Beth said. She followed Sam home which she was thankful for.
Aaron and Heather were chatting when Susan heard Sam and Beth pull in. "Looks like Beth is here." Isaac said. "Yes, she doesn't look very happy either." Susan said. Heather noticed how pale Beth looked what has happened? She thought as Heather moved towards her friend. "Hi, Beth are you okay?" Heather said. She placed her on the sofa where Heather took her one side and Aaron who got up Sam sat down beside her as well. "Heather, do you remember Jessica she was at our house today because Jake took her to our home." Beth said. "Really, why would he do that for?" Heather asked. "Because her car broke down at the Hospital in Harris where I worked." Beth said. "You look exhausted about this." Aaron said. "I am thank you I better head for home Sam. I need some time to think this through." Beth said. Sam helped her up and walked her out to the car. "Are you sure?" Sam asked. "Yes, maybe we can have a rain check on supper." Beth said. "I would like to take you to Church in Creed. Would you come with me?" Sam asked. "Yes, I will." Beth said. She pulled out of the driveway and headed home. Her mind was full of Jessica and how to deal with the situation.
Church came and Beth was waiting for Sam. "When does he come?" Ruth said. "He will be here soon." Beth said. "We will see you there." Ruth said. " Really, you are going to come too?" Beth asked. "Yes, your Dad and I prayed and the Lord is opening the door for us to go. Grandpa Gene would like to come also." Ruth said. "I am so glad to hear that." Beth said. She gave her Mom a hug when Sam pulled in she had her purse, Bible, and a warm coat. "Hi, ready to go?" Sam asked. "Yes, I am ready to go with you." Beth said. She was in the rig and they were on their way. It was a quiet drive for Beth still had a lot on her mind. What was Jessica up to anyway? Sam noticed how preoccupied she was until Sam pulled into the driveway of the Church.
