Ryder's P.O.V.

The lads and I were settled into our hotel room, Nolan and Harry watching TV and Louis and Liam were down in the pool. I sat on a stiff pistachio green chair decorated with paisley. Flipping my phone over and over in my hand, checking the time every so often.

"Ryder," Harry said, prying his eyes from the TV, "Come relax with us, you've been a mess since they left the mall."

Nolan shook his head slightly, and I unlocked my phone, scrolling between the pages of apps.

I wonder how she is, and where she was. I've missed her so much and now the while trip seems to be ruined over our friends interfering. And they were just trying to make us happy, maybe some guy had broken her heart like mine was. The thought made my blood boil that someone would hurt her, if only I was there-

"Ryder! Earth to Ryder!" Harry yelled, interrupting my thoughts, and I locked my phone again.

"Huh?" I asked, dropping my phone into the lap and rubbing my eyes.

"Wow," Harry marveled, "You really are worried about her."

I nodded slowly, picking up my phone and jumping onto the bed with the two. We were watching some rerun of an old Pawn Stars. I settled in, and soon found myself drifting to sleep.

Harry's P.O.V.

At the commercial break, I peeked over at Ryder. He was asleep, his body limp and hidden underneath piles of pillows. His phone lay on his chest, silent with no notifications.

He really missed her, and was worried. Why did we have to get involved into something we didn't need too? Because we want to see Ryder happy, my conscious reminded me.

Pawn Stars started back on and I decided to put on my swimsuit and head down to the pool.

"I'll be down in a bit, lad." Nolan piped up as I turned the knob. I had totally forgotten he was in the room.

"Yeah." I replied, swinging the heavy white door open, moving into the empty hallways.

Looking to my left, then my right, and headed left to the elevator, which would bring me to the lobby. Just as I neared the opening by the elevators, I ran into someone.

"Sorry," I mumbled, dropping my head in embarrassment

"Harry, it's okay, I was just going down to the pool." A familiar voice replied.

I lifted my head to meet Abby's eyes, which were happy in wonder.

She was in a cover up, hiding her swimsuit underneath.

"You headin' to the pool?" I asked, leading the way to the elevator, and pressing the 'Lobby' button.

"Yeah, why else would I be wearing this?" Abby said, gesturing to the cover up.

The elevator dinged and the sleek doors slide open, holding there place. I stuck my arm out with my hand holding the doors open, Abby nodded and walked through the doors into the lobby. I exited behind her and walked to catch up to her.

Abby pulled the double doors to the pool open, the strong smell of chlorine filled my nose, and I was welcomed to bright lights.

Walking over to a white plastic chair, I tugged off my black shirt and shoes, steering them on the chair.

"Ey!" I heard a voice echo from across the open room. I looked over to see Liam and Louis treading in the deep water.

"Hello Liam!" I yell back. I start running to the edge of the pool, jumping into the air grabbing my legs to my chest. The cold water splashed all around me as I plunged under the water.

Surfacing, I whipped my wet curls out of my face and looked around.

My eyes set on Abby, who was pulling her hair back into a ponytail, and was wear a teal and white striped bikini.

"Is the water cold?" She asked.

"Nah, not really. Come on in!" I yelled across the pool.

Abby came towards the deep and and dove in, leaving no sign of splashes. Taking a breath when she surfaced, Abby pushed her hand through her hair to push any loose hair back.

Swimming over to Liam and Louis, I started to tread water with them as we waited for Abby to doggie-paddle over to us.

"Do you not know any crawls?" Louis asked.

"Nope." Abby said, popping the 'p'.

"Shame." Liam added, shaking his head.

"Lol, it's all g." Abby replied, now treading water with us.

"Did you just say 'Lol'?" I chuckled.

Abby let out a little laugh, "Yeah I think so."

She looked at me, and for the first time I realized how beautiful her eyes were.

Carina's P.O.V.

"So what do you think?" I asked Erin over the phone.

I had called we to explain the whole situation.

"I think you need to talk to Ryder, but otherwise I wouldn't stress out about it because Abby was just trying I make you happy. Ryder still is your friend, correct?" Erin replied.

"Yeah, he is. I'll text him now, thanks Erin." I said.

" 'Kay bye." She replied, and hung up the phone.

Tapping End Call, I went to my home screen and opened my Messages.

And I typed

Me: hey

In a few minutes my phone buzzed with a reply;

Ryder: Hola chicka

I smiled and replied;

Me: what's up?

Ugh I don't even know what to say. Why did I even text him anyways?

Ryder: Notin... hbu

Ugh. I decided to risk it and typed my reply.

Me: nothing really... we still good right?

I mentally face palmed myself right after I sent the message. What if he took it the wrong way? I am way overthinking this, if Ryder has been my friend he will always be my friend.

My phone buzzed and I unlocked the screen in anticipation.

Ryder: yeah! y wouldn't we b

Me: idrk I gtg cu

Wow that was awkward.

Ryder's P.O.V.

After Carina said she had to go, I locked my phone and tossed it across the room. The shiny white phone plopped onto the bed, only bouncing up again slightly before settling on the comforter.

Walking across the room, I opened the dresser drawer and pulled out a black t-shirt and plaid pants out. I quickly changed into them, and jumped onto the bed, turning the television on.

Skipping past all the news channels, I settled onto Modern Family. I leaned over and pushed in the button on the black and white lamp. The room filled with darkness instantly, and I rolled over to the middle of the bed again.

I'm not going to let what happened today and in the past ruin our relationship.

The bright television's lights got more blurry and dim, as I squinted my eyes to make out the characters. Soon I shut my eyes, allowing myself to fall asleep.
