Harry's P.O.V.
I sat in the back of that coffee shop, pondering my options. Focusing my eyes as people walked by, and I let my head drop into my hands. The door rang as new customers came in; I looked up to see the blonde hair I've come to know so well and my lad, Liam.
Instantly I started rummaging around for my wallet, keeping an eye on the two as I slapped a ten onto the tiny table, causing it to shake slightly. Rushing to get out the back exit before either one of them noticed me.
I got out the back door, running to my car. Pulling the passenger's side door open, I realized the sleek car was locked. Standing up, I started to reach into my pocket, searching for my keys like a mad-man. If Abby and Liam saw me they wouldn't pay the $500K.
When did my life turn into this mess?
Pulling my keys out of my jeans, I pressed the unlock button, and I was responded with the beep of my car. Trying the door handle once again, the car opened, proving my success.
I slammed the passenger door shut so I could get to the other side.
In the reflection of the windows stood Abby, and a few feet behind her, Liam.
"Harry?" Abby asked under her breath, barely audible.
My whole body stiffened in fear. What am I going to do? You've to answer.
My mind was racing so fast I couldn't collect my thoughts or emotions, confusion, worry and relief that Abby might not have t worry about me.
Ever so slowly, as if it would make a difference, one step at a time I turned a 180 to face them.
Abby's blonde hair flew in the wind across her face, and in one hand she held a coffee from the shop we'd exited. Using her free hand, she pulled her long hair back past her face, tucking the lock behind her hair.
She looked like she hadn't gotten any sleep in these past few days, because of me. Without her usual makeup, I'd fantasied that she would look flawless, glowing actually. But this was the complete opposite, black bags and puffy red eyes included.
Her eyes scanned my body as I scanned hers, as if I was an alien that had just landed in front of her.
"Hey," I pathetically allowed the simple word to slip out of my mouth.
Abby's mouth dropped open slightly, like she didn't know how to this. I wouldn't blame her. Her eyes started to crinkled as she squinted to keep from crying.
"Harry, where the hell have you been?" She asked, staring out in a loud voice of concern, but remembering her surroundings she'd lowered it by the last word.
"Listen Abby," I rushed, looking around as I remembered Jennifer was still in town. "I can't explain this to you, or Liam," I gestured to Liam, reminding Abby that he was also present. I started backing up until I ran into the hood of my car, placing a hand so I could slide around.
"Just delay the payment."
Abby's face went from anger to confusion immediately.
"How-" Abby started to ask, but I cut her off by leaning into my car to start it.
"Abby, I need to go. Delay the payment. I love you." I said, before lowering myself, slamming the door to tune out all of her protests as I sped off away from everything I love, not even glancing into the rear view mirror.
I drove for about a half-hour, not really going anywhere. Passing a gas station, my stomach started to growl. I haven't eaten for a while, ugh. I thought, pulling over. Another pit stop.
