An unlikely pair. Can we work together?
--------------------------Maka groaned as her and Patty parted ways with the other group. They all made a plan to search different areas of the school. Maka and Patty were to search the outside of the school while Liz and Tsubaki covered the inside.
"Hey Maka what's up? You have the same look Kid has when he finds something not symmetrical." Patty asked, Maka had an uneasy and hazy look on her face.
"I'm just disappointed. I mean how stupid am I to let people see my abilities!" Maka said, visibly upset with everything.
"It's okay, Maka. Besides we all kinda messed up. Now cheer up!" Patty exclaimed in her happy demeanor.
"I'll be okay, thanks Patty. I just need to stop stressing myself out." Maka spoke in a slightly better tone.
"Do you wanna talk? That's what sis always says to do."
"Sure, but could we talk about anything but that mission?"
Patty agreed. The two talked about menial things. That was until the subject landed on their new teacher.
"Why do you think Lord Death hired her? She is rather young." Maka explained.
"I dunno. She seems really nice though." Patty replied. Maka admired the fact that through this all she kept her excitement and happiness.
"Don't tell anyone, but I was studying her soul while we were in class." To this Patty replied with a scrunched up look.
"What did it look like? Was it really gross?" She asked.
"No it was strong. Probably even stronger than Mifune's!" Maka exclaimed. "I wonder, why would someone like that be teaching us how to be teens. Also she's so young, why is her soul so strong?"
"Kid says that I never should question things I don't want answers to."
"That's actually really wise, Patty."
"Yeah, Kid has his moments. Well when he's not worrying about symmetry!"
To this, both teens laughed. Maka felt more relaxed. She wondered, when was the last time she had hung out with another girl her age? It was nice to be with someone other than Soul or Blair.
Patty felt the same. It was so long that she hadn't been with her sister. She never had a friend other than Kid and Liz. It was nice just to talk to Maka about everything. She also liked to hear Maka's intelligent rambles.
Her and Patty continued to walk around the outside perimeter. Maka sighed as she saw no sign of Black Star and Soul.
"I don't get it, where could they be?" Maka pondered. She was getting more and more agitated the longer they searched.
Suddenly the teens heard the shouting of Tsubaki and Liz.
"Let's go find them!" Patty yelled and pulled Maka along, both of them running towards the voices.
