Chapter 4

(Smokepaw and Splashpaw above)

-Five moons later-

Slate's pov

I'ts been awhile and sometime soon were becoming warriors, after us being apprentices for four moons Roseheart and Berryfoot had Splashpaw, she's a really pretty she-cat. I smiled when Whitestripe started staring at Mistpaw with a playful look, as if they knew something. "Were going to bed, come on " Smokepaw said coming up beside me. "We want to show you something" I just nodded and followed him. We got into the moss nest and he fell asleep. I shrugged and fell asleep like him but when i opened my eyes, I was somewhere else, Mistpaw was standing in front of me . "Mistpaw where are we?" I asked scared. "Don't worry, were in the dark forest, Sparrowpaw, Smokepaw, and I have been training here to get better. Darkheart said you were already ready and didn't need to be here until now" she said. I followed her though the dark colored trees, we came into a completely black river, I could see Smokepaw is ears peek the top of the water the the rest of him couldn't be seen under the water. Soon he came up and back down before coming up with Sparrowpaw beside him, they quickly but roughly swam back to shore, shaking their fur free from water. Smokepaw has a scratch right under his eye and the tip of his ear was cut and bleeding, Sparrowpaw on the other hand was covered in scratches and seaweed. I walked over to him and pulled the seaweed off of him. "Thanks Slaightpaw" he said licking me over my ear. "Your welcome, were's Darkheart?" I asked. "I'm right here, i'm so glad to finally meet you Slaightpaw" a dark gray wolf looking cat said coming up to us. "Mistpaw go with Hawkpaw to Clawtrunk and practice battling" Mistpaw nods and runs off. "It's almost time for you to become warriors" Darkheart said to Smokepaw and I. "I'm so exited, cat you tell us our powers yet?" Smokepaw asks. Darkheart shakes his head. "Must wait young one, it's not time yet" he said causing Smokepaw to scoff and roll his eyes. "Let's show you around shall we?" I follow my brother and dark forest cat farther into the trees.
