Chapter 17

Slaight's pov

I woke up to Sparkeye nudging me, I get onto my paws and follow him outside the den, the wind slightly blew. The air was cold but now its freezing, crisp leaves crunching under our weight, I spot Goldpaw and Frostpaw sharing a mouse at the entrance of the apprentice den, behind them i can slightly see Tigerpaw's white and black striped frame, sleeping in his nest. I follow Sparkeye towards them, they look up and smile at us. "Were is Mistpelt and Sparroweye?" i ask them, seeing Ashleaf and Suntail curled up in the sun together for warmth. "Went hunting with Smokepatch" Goldpaw says taking another bite of the mouse, Sparkeye snorts. "Good luck to them, they can barley fish, let alone climb a tree" i swat him with my tail, giving him a glare that he ignores. "How about we wake up Tigerpaw and go training" i suggest. "Yeah!" the apprentices jump to their paws, running in and tackling Tigerpaw, earning glares and angry hisses from the other apprentices that were talking peacefully or sleeping. Frostpaw rolls his eyes and prances over to my side happily as we head out with Kenneltail and Hawkfur leading the way. Frostpaw looks around curiously while Tigerpaw sniffs around, earning a hit on the muzzle by Goldpaw. "This isn't our territory so it's not nice to sniff around" he says calmly. "Right, sorry, it's a habit" Tigerpaw says nodding a thanks to the older apprentice for the warning as he stops sniffing around. I watch as a young cat, smaller then Goldpaw, appears from nowhere, she stops in front of us. "Shadowclan's leading a big patrol over here, we think it's an attack" Hawkfur gives her a good sniff. "Thank Russetclaw, maybe you should see Smallriver about those scratches" the orange and brown she-cat nods and runs off, leaving another small trail of blood behind her. Following Russetclaw's sent we see the rest of the patrol attacking the cats, the rest of my group jumps into battle, i stay with the apprentices, hiding under a bush. "I'll stay with you three here, but if they need help I'll go out but you stay" as we watch i explain the battle moves being used. I see another apprentice hiding like us, i flick my tail to Tigerpaw who seems about the right size for his appoint. When we start getting closer for a sneak attack i realize the apprentice was bigger then both Frostpaw and Tigerpaw, maybe a little smaller then Goldpaw. "Maybe we both can attack him on different sides" Frostpaw suggests i nod and they crept toward the red/orange cat. Tigerpaw goes straight for an attack and gets pinned down but the tom didn't notice Frostpaw coming his way. They collide and roll a little before breaking apart. Frostpaw and Tigerpaw took turns clawing and biting, snapping at the apprentice until he couldn't fight anymore, he turned tail and ran away. Back under the protection i inspecting their wounds, nothing to bad i suppose as a big tabby warrior that looks much like Hawkfur, sees me and attacks. Running from the shelter i pounce on his back, his teeth snap at me, inches from biting into my fur. I dig my claws in, holding my grip as he tries to shake me off, unfortunately for me he did. I fly into a tree, hitting my back hard against the tough surface, i open my eyes just enough to see i went though some bushes but the tabby does not give up and comes after me. I would be dead if it weren't for a Starclan warrior coming and attacking the tom who runs at first sight. "Slaigh, are you alright?" i look to see Rainpelt and Cloudedstar, side by side in front of me. "I think" i struggle to get onto my paws. "Slaight, you must go on an adventure, the Dark forest is taking our warriors into dreams and your the only one who can stop it" i look at Rainpelt like he's crazy. "What about my litter mates?". "Their already with the Dark forest, it's your decision" the fade away, leaving me puzzled in the middle of Thunderclan territory. "Slaightfur!" i turn to see Sparkeye, Frostpaw and Tigerpaw beside him. "Are you alright, we got so worried" he sniffs around me for any bad injuries but i swat his muzzle away, earning a hurt look from him. "I'm fine" i insist, getting up but he stops me when i wince in pain. "No your not, let me help" he insists. "I said i'm fine" i growl slightly, limping off. Frostpaw and Tigerpaw exchange worried glances before Frostpaw follows me. Once we got into camp Sparroweye helped me clean the small wounds i got before going to bed, i soon followed and fell asleep.

----Few moons later, the flood went down and the camp rebuilding started----

I wake up like usual to the snow falling in the cracks of the warrior den roof, landing on my nose. I sigh and go outside, watching as Marigoldkit and Flamekit jump and hop around in the snow, Tangledpaw and Littlepaw talking outside the medicine cat's den with Mudpaw. Splashleaf curled up in the nursery with Spottedkit, a white she-kit with brown and gray patches and light grean eyes, and Jadekit,a light brown tom-kit with green eyes, snuggled against her. Leopardfang sat in a circle with Goldstripe, Hailrain, and Shineclaw, talking about how every things been. Nightheart, Ravenclaw, Thundertail, and Snakeheart talking in the elders den about the young cats around the camp and how they never do anything right in a playful manner. Honeyfur, Roseheart, and Moonfur sat with Tigerpaw, Frostpaw, Ashleaf and Mistpelt, talking and playing around, inviting other cats who weren't doing anything to join them. Then their is me, a lot has happened in the past few moons, i visited Hawkfur again, and decided i'm going to take the journey, even though i have no clue were i'll be going. Sparkeye, Jayshard, Leopardfang, Shineclaw, and Splashleaf are joining me on this adventure, including our apprentices and Splashfur's kits. I gathered our patrol that night, consisting of Sparkeye, Jayshard, Leopardfang, Shineclaw, Splashleaf, Spottedkit, Jadekit, Tigerpaw, Frostpaw, Tangledpaw and Littlepaw. We headed out towards Windclan, following the grass plain, taking head on the adventure awaiting us.
