Chapter 15

Slaight's pov

Jaypaw and I walked toward Darkheart who was talking to the whole group of cats, obviously not knowing we were here and listening. "We're almost ready, the ones alive will meet at four trees, our spirits are with you. We'll get together and slowly make our way from one clan to another" the cats let out yowls of approval. "Slaighfur we can't let this happen!" Jaypaw said looking at me. "I know, I'll ask Minttail about it" i say as we wake up to more water dripping into the hole. We started heading out, i looked to see Sparkeye was nudging me. "Come on, we need to move" he said kindly, helping me to my paws as we continue walking.I watch as Marigoldkit runs ahead of Honeyfur, her big yellow eyes sparkling with interest. "We're so lucky" she shout back to Flamekit who's slowly following her sister. "We're only two moons old and get to see the forest already!" she jumps with excitement, she runs up to walk side by side with Suntail. "Quiet Marigoldkit, if you wake up all the pray what will we eat tonight?" he scolds his kit with a soft slap of his tail on her head. Marigoldkit gives him a glare but stays quiet, Flamekit and Frostkit scoff and say at the same time. "About time someone got her to shut up" this caused many of us to let out a mrrow of laughter. Honeyfur flicks Flamekit and Frostkit on the heads with her tail, making them stay quiet. "Honestly what's this clan made of, kits?" Smokepatch growls, walking away from Sparroweye, who he was talking two. About half way though the day the finally made it out of the cramp tunnel and into the forest. "Stay close, we don't know what we could run into, one fall into the water and your dead" Cloudedstar said, pointing to the lapping waves. Mudpaw limped with Minttail, his back leg has a scar from the Twoleg thing, it was lifted to be off the ground, wincing when he let it down. Cloudedstar stops the walking to talk, like it was a clan gathering. "I'm sad to say Mudpaw can't be a warrior due to his injury" she said, pointing to his paw that's lifted to be by his side. "He will train to be Minttail's apprentice" everyone cheers for Mudpaw. "And in order to stay alive though this part of the forest we need to split up, meet back here" she gets cats into groups, some staying with the queens and Ravenclaw. I follow Sparkeye and Smokepatch who are leading the way when a thunderpath appears. "We need to cross it"Jaggedclaw says, Snakeheart, Ashleaf and Cloudedstar beside him. He count down and we run, i though it was going well until i hear a screech and a weird sound before the contact hit but i didn't stop until reaching the other end. I looked to see about everyone, when i looked back over the thunderpath i see Jaggedclaw and Cloudedstar lying their, a monster stopped a little farther ahead, and Roseheart and Barryfoot picking up the bodies and bringing them back to the ledge. I quickly run back across, followed by most of the others and we head back to the 'camp'. "What happened!" Thundertail screeched. "A monster hit them, taking all of Cloudedstar's lives, i'm guessing it killed Jaggedclaw to" Barryfoot almost didn't say it, but he did. When everyone got back they mourned over Cloudedstar and Jaggedclaw. "This is killing us! First Raystripe and Rainpelt, then Cloudedstar and Jaggedclaw, before we know it all the Riverclan will be dead!" Snowfoot hissed some nodding in agreement. "But we have a new leader now, I know Berryfoot will lead us to safety"Hailpaw says, causing the clan to shout. "Barryfoot! Barryfoot! Barryfoot!". "I'll head out tonight, as for out deputy, that will be Sparroweye!" everyone cheered again before eating the pray some cats caught and settling down. "It's so not fair" i heard Splashleaf and Smokepatch fight again. "He's to soft to be a leader someday, that should be me" Smokepatch growls. "I trained harder then him, I bet Jaypaw won't become a warrior until my kits have already became warriors" he growls. I sigh and turn away from the fight, facing Sparkeye. "I got you some food" he says dropping a mouse at my paws. I smile thankfully and quickly eat it, knowing he already ate, after we curled up beside each other for warmth but were quickly disturbed when the sun rose and Barrystar lead us towards Windclan. "I saw Thistlestar last night and he said we can stay with them till the water clears up" he meows to us all as we enter the clearing. I see Daisykit and Redpool at their den, Cine and Sandpaw sharing a rabbit, Branchkit, Mudkit, and Leafkit talking together in a group. "Welcome!" Thistlestar says. "You'll be staying in your normal dens, just pretend you at home and enjoy your stay!" he says kindly, walking off. "Daisypaw come" i hear Redpool say as the she-cat follows. "Hey Leafshade, look it's Slaightfur!" Leafshade turns my way, her brothers following. "You just missed our warrior ceremony the other day, i'm Leafshade now, this is Mudnose and Branchclaw. I smile at the three. "What about Daisypaw? How is she doing?" i ask. "She's getting better, talking a little bit but not a lot" Branchclaw says softly as if their sister would hear. "Leopardpaw come here" i yell to the black and gray cat who comes my way. "This is Leopardpaw, my apprentice" we talked all day and finally the clan settled down and got to sleep. Some having more trouble then others about having another clan so close to each other but now are settled down as we got to talk. I curled up with Sparkeye, Mistpelt, and Ashleaf, hoping we'll all go back to normal soon.
