Slaight

Chapter 2

(what Moonfur looks like but with black muzzle above)

Slaight's pov

I woke up to Nightheart Licking behind my ears, I flicked my ear and sat up pushing her away as I walked to the front of the den, everyone was gathered around clan rock, waiting for us. I Followed Mistkit and sat next to her in front of Robinstar who smiled at us. "We are gathered here with these four kits who are ready to become apprentices, Slaightkit, step forward". I walked until i was staring completely up at him. "Do you promise to protect your clan at all cost and to follow the warrior code" I nod, not trusting my voice. "Then from now on you'll be know as Slaightpaw" he touched his nose to the top of my head. I smiled and watched as the same thing happened to my littermates, and in the end everyone cheered as we went to out mentors. I walked over to the light gray she-cat with a black muzzle and silverish green eyes, her name is Moonfur, I smiled at her similar fur color as to Mistpaw. "Were to, territory, Hunting, or battle?" she asked. "I get to choose?" I asked. "Sure, why not?". "How about we see our territory" she nodded and we walked out of camp though the bracken tunnel. Once we got out the first thing i saw were trees, everywhere, we started walking on the healthy green grass, I looked around, it was so beautiful. I saw a small hole and inside I could faintly see a rabbit, I called Moonfur over and pointed to it before crouching and stalking forward to the hole. Once close enough I scooped it out and killed it with a bite in it's neck. "Nice job Slaightpaw, let's bury it and get it later" I nodded and we buried the rabbit for later before continuing. Soon we reached a calm river, slowly but quickly moving to the left, I could see fish swimming in it and jumping out of the water, splashing us. "It's so pretty, I just want to stand here and watch it" I say crouching near the water. "Well over there across from us is Thunderclan, maybe if were lucky we will see some cats" she said happily. "I over hear Roseheart and Raystripe talking about you being born there but was taking into our clan cause your father was here" I say carefully, not wanting to be rude. "That's what I was told in the nursery as a kit, my father kept telling me about this silver tabby she-cat in Thunderclan, here, i'm going to tell you my story" I nodded and sat up, sitting and facing Moonfur. "When I was a kit a silver tabby she-cat gave birth to Frostkit and I, Frostkit, from what I heard, was a beautiful silver tabby she-cat like out mother. When we were two moons from becoming apprentices our mother didn't want us growing up without our real father cause she made us think a tom named Duskheart was our father. We left in the middle of the day, telling the clan we were going to see the river, but when we tried to cross the water picked up due to the rain that started coming and my mother died. Ravenclaw had saved us and Cloudfoot tried to get to my mother but ended up drowning himself, forcing us to grow up in the clan without parents because no one wanted us. Frostkit died two days after being saved due to left over water in her lungs" Moonfur said. "Oh" was all i could say before hearing someone call Moonfur's name. I looked over the water to see three Thunderclan cats, I guess they loved her mother to much to hate her only living kit, but who wouldn't, they sounded like the most beautiful and perfect family. "Hawkpaw, Kenneltail, Creamheart, this is Slaightpaw" Moonfur said jumping on the crossing rocks, I followed her. "Slaightpaw this is Hawkpaw" Hawkpaw has icy blue eyes and dark brown fur and a white underbelly. "Is she your new apprentice?" Kenneltail asked. "Yes she is" they continued talking for a little before we went back over to out territory and said goodbye. We went back to cam after retrieving my rabbit, everyone seemed impressed and congratulated me for my first catch before I ate and went to bed, cuddling next to Smokepaw.
