chapter 11 - retelling the horror

"Gary good to see you to" ash aproached gary and held out his hand whilst hiding his face under his hood gary grasped his hand but noticed ashes handshake becoming weak.

"Are serena astrid and chris alright?" Gary was expecting this question from ash "there fine gramps called serena as soon as you were spotted in the lab i know it wasnt your fault" he added the last comment after he saw the guilt ridden look on his friends face.

"Im sorry gary for the hurt i inflicted on you and officer jenny but it took all the strength i had to stop terror from harming your son i hope you can forgive me" his eyes filled with tears as he just stared at the ground.

Gary watched his friend in disbelief after what he just heard was this terror really going to harm his son? "Thankyou ash and when you put it that way then i forgive you for the electroball" he smiled and ash smiled back.

"So what happened to you? What did they do?" Gary asked with concern in his voice. Ash couldnt look his friend in the eye "promise you wont freak out" he asked. Gary was taken a back by the comment but eventually promised just then ash lowered his hood revealing his face gary was shocked but glad to see the emotion back in his eyes.

"They experimented on me gary injected me with all sorts of weird serums 5 in total after the first 1 they implanted this in my spine at the back of my neck" ash held out his hand and gave gary the crushed device "then they continued to inject me with them the pain was so bad it turned my hair grey" he pointed at his hair gary noticed the grey streaks. "After that the next 3 years were nothing but torture literally they had pokemon use there strongest moves on me hence the reason for the scars they trained me in hand to hand combat and how to use my new powers against them whilst my sub conciousness was trapped within my mind to weak to escape the last 2 years they had me work the field stealing pokemon from unsuspecting trainers not to far away from here im ashamed at what they forced me to do" a single tear rolled down his face.

Gary sat there thinking for a moment then horror struck his face "Ash dont tell me it was you who killed them inocent trainers" ash slowly nodded whilst tears streamed down his face "19 in total there final moments will haunt my dreams forever how could i ever face serena and the kids knowing what i did the least i can do is rid the world of team rocket so my children can grow up in a world free of evil".

"So what now?" Gary asked  already knowing the answer "first take this to serena" he handed him a hand written letter addressed to her "tell her that im fine i bet shes been worried these past 5 years" gary agreed with that statement she always tried to stay strong for her kids "then next im going after team rocket they will pay for what they made me do to those trainers they will be avenged" there was a fire in ashes eyes that gary both admired and shivered at.

Ash then put up his hood and disappeared once more into the shadows.
