Beep, Beep, Beep!! The alarm clock blared. Rachel woke stunned by the sudden loud noise. She groaned. Morning already? Rachel lifted her hand out from under the covers in search of the alarm clock's off button. She found it and pushed the small button, nothing happened. She pressed it again a little harder, silence came.
She put her hand next to her head.
Now awake, Rachel knew she had to get up. She didn't want to be late for the last day of school. Rachel slipped her feet out of the blankets and sat up rubbing her eyes open.
She sat blinking in the sudden light.
Her eyes adjusted and she stood up stretching her hands to the ceiling, to her toes then walked to her bedroom window. It gave a tiny screech as Rachel opened it.
She craned her head out and inhaled a big breath of fresh air. It was a beautiful Friday morning with barely a cloud in the sky and not a care in the air.
She liked the view from her bedroom. Her backyard was like any other yard, big with green grass. At the edge of it were trees dividing her house from the neighbor next door, Freddy Fazbear's.
She had been there her whole life, always been neighbors with the restaurant. Rachel never went there again after it happened, the disappearance of her father.
Rachel's father worked one of the shifts at Freddy's, the night shift. He was always stressed out about the job. Then again, it was obvious he was stressed since he was working at night. But one day, he never came back.
The police investigated the entire restaurant but they didn't find any prime suspects and the body was never found. Five years have passed since that happened and Rachel tried to forget those dreadful memories. Rachel's mother remarried and now has a new husband, Jake. He likes spending time with Rachel, helping her do her homework or playing soccer outside.
Rachel ducked her head through the window and closed it when her mother called from downstairs. "Rachel breakfast."
Just hearing the word breakfast made her stomach growl. Pancakes, Rachel thought. She repositioned her gold locket then opened her bedroom door and went down the hall.
Pictures lined the walls. There were some of Rachel and her mother, her and her father, some with all of them and some of just her. She looked at one of the framed pictures. It showed Rachel and her father at Freddy's. It was his first day on the job and her dad was in uniform. You'd probably think this was an ordinary family picture, but Rachel always saw the one thing that disturbed her. In the background, the Fazbear Band played behind them with Freddy Fazbear himself looking straight at her father. At first, Rachel thought it was a coincidence but after a long time of looking at it, it looked like Freddy was eager about something. She imagined Freddy hopping off the stage and attacking her father, but Rachel knew that didn't happen.
Rachel left the pictures and went down the stairs. She glided her hand on the railing as she went down.
At the end of the stairs lied Rachel's Germain Shepherd, Tracker. He was one year old and very playful. He was patiently waiting for Rachel to play with him. When she was at the end of the stairs, the dog wagged his tail and whimpered to get her attention.

"Sorry, Tracker

"Sorry, Tracker. I can't play with you right now" Rachel patted his head then went to the kitchen, the dog hot up and followed behind her.
A hot plate of pancakes were waiting for her. Rachel sat at the table across from her stepfather, who just got back from work and made coffee. He was reading the daily newspaper. Rachel started chowing down on the pancakes like her whole life depended on them.
"Rachel, easy. Don't give yourself a stomach ache. " Rachel's mother went over with pancakes for herself and a cup of coffee. " Sorry. " Rachel apologized. "I just can't wait to finally end the school year." Jake took a sip of his coffee then exclaimed, " Yeah, Middle school here we come!" He had the most contagious smile and Rachel couldn't back down to smile back.
All of the sudden, the phone rang. Jake's smile disappeared as he got up and went to the other room to pick up the phone. They all knew it was Jake's boss. He's the only one that calls this early. Rachel finished her breakfast and was trying to stall so she can know what the man on the phone needed to say. She started petting Tracker, he stuck his tongue out and closed his eyes savoring the good feeling. Her mother finished her coffee and pancakes, she brought the plate to the sink to be washed later.
Rachel's stepfather came back to the kitchen with a relieved look on his face. Rachel stopped petting Tracker so she can hear with her mother. " So, what did he say? " Rachel's parent asked. "Is it anything important?"
"He said that he's switching it up. Shaun's doing the night shift." He said. It was silent. Rachel was kind of relieved that he was doing the day shift. Now that she knew the news, she got up from her seat and left the kitchen, Tracker following close behind.
She went upstairs and walked down the picture- filled hall. She passed what used to be her father's room but was now Jake's. Rachel dragged her hand against the wall. Feeling the wallpaper beneath it.
She entered her room and went to the dresser. She noticed Tracker by the doorway and smiled. " You want to wear one of my shirts? " She joked. He sat and tilted his head, trying to look cute. She imagined the German Shepherd with a cute shirt on, but she dismissed the thought. She thought about what she was going to wear instead. Rachel was thinking about wearing a skirt or a small dress since it was the most special day of the school year.
She opened up the bottom drawer of the dresser. There were skirts and dresses of all colors. Rachel thought of wearing a small dress so she pulled out a pink and blue dress, unfolded it, then went to her full-length mirror. She put the dress against her as she looked at herself. I'm going to look cute in this, she thought. She put the dress on the bed when something caught her eye. Next to her horse stuffed animal was a Fredbear plush Rachel's father gave her. She can still remember the night like it was last night.
