Rachel and her mother arrived at Hurricane Elementary school. Her mother stopped at the front and Rachel got out of the car.
"Have a good day at school." Her mother said.
She answered back goodbye then closed the car door.
Rachel turned her back to the car and took a deep breath.
Just needed to make this day go smoothly and quickly. She started walking to the entrance when she saw Tracey's car pull up. She got out and ran to Rachel. They greeted and hugged each other then let go. As their cars drove away they started walking to the entrance of the school.
Rachel and Tracey started talking about what they were doing for the summer. Tracey was going to a summer camp, while Rachel wasn't really doing anything.
Rachel had slung her arm over Tracey and Tracey slung her arm over Rachel. They occasionally do that walking into school and now would be a good time to do just that.
"So what did you need to tell me?" Rachel asked walking in the building with her best friend. They both took their arms off each other when they switched to the different topic.
"You never heard?!" A voice said.
They looked over and saw a young girl with dark hair walk up. It was one of the popular girls, Mary. She was a menace to not popular people, in that case, Rachel and Tracey.
"I would tell you but I shouldn't or your neighbors will come and kill me." Mary laughed.
Other kids around them also laughed along.
Tears formed in Rachel's eyes. She knew they were talking about Freddy's. Tracey started petting her back to try to calm her down before she starts sobbing.Rachel and Tracey quickly pushed past the laughing kids and ran up the stairs.
They made it to the top of the stairs without tripping and started down the hall. Rachel and Tracey finally made to the upstairs restroom and they went in.
Tracey let go of Rachel as she made her way to the sinks. She turned on the water and washed her face. She tried to wash the tears that were rolling down.
Rachel stopped and turned off the water. She left her face dripping as she started crying. She looked at herself in the mirror and saw sadness and hate written all over her face.
Tracey went over to her and tried to comfort her. "It's going to be OK. Don't listen to them. They're just idiots that don't even know what they are doing."
"How can you say that? Everybody hates me because I'm neighbors with killers!" Rachel sobbed.
"Not everyone."
Rachel looked at Tracey.
"I don't hate you. You're a beautiful person and an awesome friend anyone could ask for."
Those words made Rachel smile then they hugged for a while.
The school bell rang and they let go of each other. Tracey got a paper towel and gave it to Rachel so she can wipe her face.
She finished drying her face and threw away the paper towel.
They then walked out of the restroom together and went down the hall. They sat outside the classroom like all the rest of the students. But when Rachel sat down the other kids tried to stay as far away as possible.
The other kids were scared of Rachel even though they didn't quite know her. They just believed the rumors that went around.
Rachel tried to start over like what just happened never happened. "So," Rachel quietly said. "What did you need to tell me?"
Tracey looked over at Rachel and took a deep breath.
"There was another incident."
"What happened?"
"A kid got on the stage and went too close to Freddy's mouth."
Rachel knew the rest. The kid got too close and CHOMP!!!! The kid's head bitten off.
Rachel can already image the bloody scene. Freddy's mouth holding the child's head blood dripping from it and the crusher. The stage soaked with blood as a pool surrounded the animatronic. Children screaming and crying. Parents watch in horror. To the kids, it will be the worst day of their lives.
"When did it happen?" Rachel whispered.
" Yesterday." Tracey replied.
" Yikes! If it was on the news then I would have known."
The teacher came out of the classroom and motioned for the students to come in.
Rachel was the first inside then Tracey then all the rest of the students. Rachel hung up her bag then went to her desk. The others hung their back packs and while walking to their desks, they were avoiding Rachel as they sat down.
School started.
