Trick of Treat Part 2

Once the ambulance pulled in they rushed Tali off and Ziva was left there with tears running down her face.

Moments later Tony found her and pulled her into his arms. He wanted to be strong for them both but he couldn't contain the tears from falling from his eyes.

Everyone else made it to them and they all were ready eyed.

"Ziva I'm so sorry I didn't know." McGee said franticly.

Ziva knew he didn't know and that he didn't mean to hurt Tali but she couldn't reassure him that everything was okay right now.

She was doing everything in her power to not lose it herself, let alone tell them it was going to be okay. She didn't have anything left to help him.

"She's going to be okay." Tony said rubbing her back soothingly.

Ziva just let him hold her and cried. The rest of the team looked at her sadly. Knowing that it is bad when she cries.

Gibbs watched sadly. They just got everything back. They were happy again and now this happens.

They were all silent. Nobody dared to break the silence. One because nobody knew what to say, but also, because nobody wanted to set Ziva over the edge.

"I found out she was allergic to nuts when she was eleven months old. I let her have one of those peanut butter cookies cause I knew it would dissolve in her mouth. But she started choking and her lips turned blue. The doctor said she could have died if I had gotten her there a few minutes later." Ziva sobbed.

"Hey. No, don't think of the worse case scenario, she's going to be okay." Tony said wiping the tear from her face gently with his thumb.

They all sat in the waiting room with a gloomy look amongst them. They made an odd looking group. All their costumes got them weird looks.

"Family of Talia David-DiNozzo?" The doctor called.

Ziva was out of Tony's lap and by the doctor in a matter of seconds.

"Is she okay?" Ziva asked.

"Yes, she will have a sore throat due to the intubation. But she is severely allergic to nuts. My advice would be have an epi-pen on hand at all times just in case." The doctor said seriously.

Ziva looked relieved. He started handing her pamphlets about epi-pens.

"She's sleep right now. But free to go if you wish to take her. Room 22. That's down the hall and on the right." The doctor said.

Ziva grabbed Tony's hand and drug him quickly around the corner. They peeked around the door and saw Tali still asleep.

Ziva approached the bed and stroked her cheek. She started murmuring in Hebrew softly until the little girls eyes opened.

"Ima." She said horsely.

"Oh Tali." Ziva said scooping her up.

"Abba." She said once she saw Tony.

He wrapped his arms around the both of them. He was relieved she was okay.

"Don't try to talk princess. I know your throat hurts." Tony said softly.

"Tired." She whispered.

They walked out of her room and met everyone in the waiting room. Relieved looks washed over them.

"Tali." McGee said sadly.

"She's okay McGee. Her throat is sore and she's tired but she'll be okay." Tony said softly.

Ziva picked her up and held her tightly. McGee gave her a sad look.

"I am not mad Tim. It was an accident." Ziva said softly.

"Thank you Ziva." McGee said hugging her.

"Enough excitement. You two need to get her home and let her sleep. Take a couple days." Gibbs said placing his hand in Ziva's shoulder.

"Thank you." Ziva muttered.

Gibbs gave her a small smile and kissed her head, then Tali's. He looked at Tony.

"Take care of your family DiNozzo." He said, hugging him.

Everyone looked shocked to see Gibbs display this much affection. But with this scare, he knew he should say how much he cares more often.

Wether it was verbally of through his actions.

Tony and Ziva said their goodbyes and headed home.

"I've never been scared on Halloween. Not till this one." Tony mumbled once they were home and in bed.

"I am sorry. I kind of lost it. I am sure that was not helpful for you." Ziva said softly.

"No don't apologize for being a worried mother Ziva. You have every right to be." Tony said caressing her cheek softly.

Ziva snuggle up to Tony and closed her eyes. Just as she was comfortable she heard cries coming from Tali.

Tony look at her and gave her a small smile before she got up and retrieved her.

Ziva pulled Tali from her bed and kissed her on the head.

"Do you want to come sleep with me and Abba?" Ziva asked her.

Tali looked at her and nodded. Ziva smiled and carried her into their room.

"Hey princess." Tony said after Ziva laid Tali in between them.

Ziva placed a protective hand on Tali's small body as Tony's arms wrapped around them.

They fell asleep, finally at peace, on the treacherous night of their scariest Halloween yet.
