He leaned in and I swear my heart could have stopped, but he stopped, centimeters from my face. Dan's hand traced lightly up my jawline until he reached my hair. Dan tucked a piece of my hair behind my ear and smiled before turning around to leave. My heart was racing, what in the hell was that? This feeling inside me was welling up and I could feel the redness in my cheeks rising again, but I soon bit my lip when Dan turned once more.

"By the way, Those glasses you tried to hide. They suit you"

I mouthed out a "Thank you"and then closed the door, placing my back against it afterwards. I've never really felt like this before, new was this feeling. Normally I only had unrelenting rage towards Dan, but tonight was different. I shook my head, getting rid of all thoughts, If I open myself up, he's just going to play me, that's who Dan was, this person who just used people to get what he wanted. After Dan left I went back upstairs and changed back into my Pj's, throwing my hair back up in that messy bun where I then retreated downstairs to finish that book, and I didn't really move from the window until I decided to go to bed.

I woke up the next morning to the sound of my alarm. I valued my sleep, so when I have to get up due to an alarm, I always seem to wake up in a grumpy mood. I slammed my fingers onto my phone, trying to press a button of some sort to get it to stop and tossed it onto the vacant space next to me. I stretched beneath the warm covers of my blankets, not wanting to crawl out to begin the day. It was about 11 am, so I had an hour before I had to meet Bethany for lunch. I procrastinated for about 10 minutes and then threw back the covers, slightly skipping over to my closet. I threw the doors wide open and stared inside its contents, I threw a shirt that was riddled with tiny pokémon and the same denim shorts from last night, I only wore them for a few hours last night, so as far as I was aware, I considered them still clean. I walked into my bathroom and tossed my hair around in its natural state so it was at least presentable and patted down some make up, afterwards I ran downstairs, threw on some chunky black boots and walked out the door with my bag.

I walked over to Bethany's, fumbling through my bag as I walked along the sidewalk, I was trying to search for some sunglasses, I knew I had a pair in there somewhere, I slid my hand into the bottom left hand corner and managed to pull a pair out. I gave them a quick clean with the bottom of my shirt and then put them on, the sun was actually pretty bright today, so dulling it down was much needed. When I made it to her home, I walked up the stairs and rang the doorbell, but I wasn't met with Bethany, in fact I was met with her older brother, Hayden. When I say older, it's by 5 minutes, Bethany was a twin. I never really liked him, He was also a jock who played for the school football team, and whenever I was around him he would always try to hit on me. He looked down at me and bit his lip as the edges curled.

"Well, well. Look who it is, Finally here to go out with me?"

"Ew, no. I'm here for Bethany"

"You know one of these days you'll say yes"

I laughed, probably louder than I should have. He was so full of himself, more so than Dan which was a hard thing to believe, I gave him a smug look and folded my arms.

"Maybe when I'm dead. Get Bethany"

I could hear her running down the stairs, she pushed Hayden out of the way and slammed the door behind her.

"Sorry about that, I really don't like that he talks to you"

"Imagine how I feel"

We both laughed and then started to make our way to our favourite cafe, at least once every two weeks Bethany and I come to this spot to have lunch and just talk, Because we don't see each other that often at school , we keep our friendship intact with little friendship dates. We chatted about everyday things until we made it there, then sat in our usual booth by the window. Bethany looked at me curiously and took my hand.

"So what's going on with you? I've heard some things"

I groaned and put my head against the table. I really wanted everyone to forget about that.

"Where do I start"

"Let's go from the beginning"

I sat up and brushed my hair out of my face, looking quite embarrassed, and I knew that Bethany could tell.

"Okay. The other night I had a dream.. About Dan"

"Dan? What happened?"

"I don't remember too much of it now, but there was a segment that looked liked we were together, and happy, but when I ran I was met with Dan, and the one thing that stuck out was that he told me to "Consume him""

Bethany just stared at me, I don't even think she knew where I was going with this.

"Anyway, I got up the next morning to finish an essay, and whilst doing it I got carried away in thought and apparently wrote down some of my dream into the essay, which then the asshole of an English teacher read out to the entire class, and I was mortified. So I left class."

"Do you know what the dream means?"

"I'm not done"

"Oh."

"So you know that math assignment?"

"What about it?"

"I got paired with Dan"

"Wow, He just keeps appearing everywhere"

"I know right?! So he came over last night to do the assignment a-"

"Wait, Your house?"

"Yes. He wasn't in his usual football clothes, he was different, wearing all black and rocking skinny jeans, and by the way, make his legs look long as all hell, but I just couldn't keep my eyes off him, I kept catching myself staring at him"

"Whoa"

"And then when he left, he leaned in, my heart was racing, but all he did was tuck my hair behind my ear, but my heart, it just couldn't take it. I had to close the door on him."

"You know what it sounds like?"

"What?"

"Sounds like you're starting to fall for him"

A woman wearing an apron came up to us in that moment with two milkshakes in her hand, she had a bright smile with rosy cheeks as she placed them in front of us.

"Oh uh, we haven't even ordered yet?"

"A gentleman said to give these to the two girls in the window, he paid for them himself."

I looked around, trying to spot someone, but I couldn't see anything, but I did manage to catch someone walking out of the cafe, wearing nothing but black.
