So... here it is. The update you've been waiting for...

Chapter nineteen! *celebrates*

I was gonna prank you all and say I was discontinuing the story then post the chapter, but decided I didn't want to be that mean to all you lovely readers who have been waiting so patiently for the next update.

Just to keep you updated though this might be the only chapter for a while again. I'm still super busy with work and will be going back to school pretty soon. I hope to get back to the usual schedule (once a week) once I've settled into school again.

Without further ado, the chapter. Enjoy~

"I'm doing just fine, my child. How is your cheek doing?"

"Not wonderfully. It's a bit swollen, but it's not bleeding and doesn't hurt too much."

"That good to hear. Be careful with it, alright? Wouldn't want it to scar."

"I will." You answered, as you smiled and nodded to the receptionists as you passed on your way to the elevators. One of them waved back with a pristine lipsticked smile, then went back to whatever she was doing on the computer situated in front of her.

"So what are you up to, my child? Just relaxing at Sans and Papyrus' house?"

"No, I'm actually on my way to work. I have to speak with my manager about what happened."

"Ah, I see." She said as you reached out to press the elevator call button. There were two elevators in the main building, and luckily it didn't look like you'd have to share with too many people. As you watched the arrow signaling which floor the arrow was on descend, you heard a bit of a commotion on the other end of the line. "What is it Frisk? No, I am speaking with (y/n). Don't try to snatch the phone Frisk! You can speak with her later. No, because she's a work." Her voice sounded a little distant, like she was holding the phone away from her ear. "Sorry about that. It seems Frisk wishes to speak to you."

"It's alright. Unfortunately I can't video chat with her right now."

"Which is what I'm trying to tell her." Toriel sighed just as the elevator door pinged open. I strode inside, hitting the button for the 35th floor and waiting for the doors to close again. Luckily no one joined me in the space on the main floor, but there would probably be people moving up from the higher floors, so I tucked myself into the corner and waited as the metal box began to ascend. "But maybe we can plan a time to meet in the next few hours?"

"That would be great! I'm not quite sure when I'll be done at work though."

"Well why don't you call us when you're finished? We can arrange to get together after that."

"That would probably work best." You nodded to yourself as the door pinged open again on your floor. You tapped out of the elevator, heading straight for Chris' office, which was located near the backside of the building. As you passed familiar faces you smiled and waved, but didn't deter to stop and chat. "I hate to cut our chat short," you said to Toriel apologetically. "But I'm heading into the office now so I need to go."

"That is alright, my child. So we will talk later?"

"Yup! I'll make sure to call as soon as I can."

"Alright, take care."

"You too." As you pulled your phone away from your ear to end the call, you tilted your head down so your hair would fall forwards to hide the cut. Luckily you were already at Chris' door, so it was unlikely anyone would notice in the time it took you to get inside.
