It took about a half hour for Asgore to return to the coffee shop. During that time, you distracted yourself by watching Quinn and the other worker, who you learned was named Teddy, make lattes, americanos, and cappuccinos. It was during this time you learned what the different drinks were called, and what went into each one. Apparently having a mind void of the past was great for remembering things like this. You also learned a thing or two about monsters and the coffee shop you sat in. For one, the shop itself was called the Daily Grind. And, apparently, while it was a coffee shop during the day, at night from Thursday's to Sunday's it doubled as a bar. You didn't really see how functional that was, but the other owner, Grillby, used to run a restaurant in the Underground and wanted to continue that on the surface. Somehow Quinn and he met, one thing led to another and the Daily Grind became a coffee shop during the day and a restaurant/bar at night. It sounded like it was quite a bit harder for a monster to open a business on the surface than a human.
After about a half hour, Asgore returned without Frisk, ready to walk you over to the nearest police station. You bid goodbye to Quinn, then followed Asgore out of the shop and onto the street. It was quite a bit warmer out now that the sun was shining, the air crisp and clean. A few cars idled by in the road, not moving all that fast as they carried their passengers to their destination. Asgore continued onto the sidewalk, taking a left as he led the way to the police station.
"I hope you do not mind walking." Asgore said over his shoulder as he led the way. "I did not think to bring a car."
"I don't mind." You answered. Walking gave you a chance to look around at the unfamiliar town, to stretch legs you didn't even know where stiff. As you strolled, you looked around the area and noticed how different it was during the day. Mostly in how you'd mistaken a purely residential area for a shopping district. The Daily Grind sat on the edge of a park, and was surrounded on other sides by repurposed houses that had been changed to stores of all types. There was a bookstore, an ice cream shop, a restaurant, and other such things, as well as old apartment buildings. Way past the park you could see a large building which you assumed was the school, and beyond that was where family houses lay. Now, the dark gloom from the night was replaced by a quiet hum of activity. People milled about on the sidewalk; walking dogs, moving from one destination to another, standing idly and chatting. There was a combination of both monsters and humans on the street, neither seeming to mind the presence of the other at all. Several monsters waved or greeted Asgore, and he waved and greeted them back. It made you wonder who he was really, what kind of role he played in the Underground.
Letting your wings fan out behind you, feathers ruffling against your back as they moved. Wow, it felt really nice to stretch out your wings. You stretched them out a couple times, creating a slight wind and a rustling sound, before you settled them against you back comfortably again and continued to look around. As you moved beyond the shops, you spotted what you believed to be your destination. A more modern building, given away by the sign at the front and the white cop cars around the side.
Other than your nervousness when you first arrived to the station, the trip was rather anticlimactic. There wasn't any big reveal about who you were and where you came from. No sobbing parents worried sick about where you were. Just... a police officer taking your fingerprints and running them through a machine. When the machine beeped, it told you nothing. You had no recorded information. They also check missing persons, which turned up nothing. So, like Asgore said they did with all new monsters, the officer took down any information you could give him. You figured out that you had, in fact, come from the Underground, which Asgore figured out after you described the place you woke up in (which was called the Lab apparently.) You said your name was Lucky, since that was the only name you had for yourself right now and the officer took down your description, jotting down your wings, tail, and horns as notable features and using a tape measure to figure out your height (4'8, which was quite short compared to the human average.) But... other than that, there really wasn't anything else they could do.
