[Time skip to where a few other people have joined the Survey core]
After a while in the woods we all head back to HQ and waiting for us is a big basket of fruit and a card on the front step. So we decided to take it inside.
Hanji picks up a card and reads it aloud "To our friends at the Survey core, a gift to show you how much we care."
"Who's it from?" I ask all the while think that this is a little suspicious, she shrugged
"I don't know. It just shows a picture of a mask with squiggles around it." She answers showing me the sign 'oh no.' I think I see an apple upon the basket and get a horrifying thought but I need to test it
"Oh well.... Well at least we have free fruit." I say playing it cool
"I still think we should wait--" Hanji was about to say before I grabbed the apple and took a bite 'just what I thought.' I think confirming my fears. Just then Ben (another person from the 104th cadet core) came up behind me and swiped the apple out of my hand
"Hey pip squeak ever heard of sharing?" He teases
"Ew. Your really going to eat that after I bit into it. That's disgusting." I remark attempting to have him give the apple back
"I'll learn to live with it." He smirks as he's about to take a bite. I think quick and kick him in the gut and surely enough he dropped it and I caught
"Thank you for giving me my apple back." I retort, as I'm about to walk out of the room my vision gets blurry and I begin to sweat a lot, I stop still not facing Anyone "Hanji." I say
"Yes?" She asked
"Make sure no one else eats that fruit..." I tail as I begin to feel weak and fall to the floor, my vision blurred the last clear image I saw before I lost consciousness was Hanji and Levi running toward me
[Hanji's POV]
When I witnessed her fall my heart dropped, I quickly took a peach rubbed it on my jacket and sniffed it
"Poison." I say as I run over to her Levi came with me. I knelt by her side and felt for a pulse "She's alive but slipping." I say, I look at Levi. "Levi. I need you and that boy to get Ruby to the infirmary now." I order, he nods as he and the boy pick up Ruby by the legs and arms, but as they rave away I hear Levi
"I think if she wakes up you should apologize to her." He insists I see the boy nod as they run as fast as they can with Ruby in their arms to the infirmary.
I notice the apple - that Ruby bit - on the floor. As I pick it up I notice her bite mark, I smile 'even her bite marks are petite.' I think as I wrap up the apple in a cloth.
