Chapter 16: Awake

I wake up in a trailer and find Hanji next to me except she's on a horse

"Oh good, your awake." She says, I try to sit up "Whoa. Now you should rest some more." She tells me

"Its OK I'll live." I reply getting up and going to my horse

"You sure? You lost a lot of blood." She asks

"Yeah I'll be fine." I answer when we suddenly hear loud steps behind us. I look behind me to see 2 titans running at us and 2 soldiers running away from them 'great now what are we going to do?' I wonder that's when I had an idea "Hanji. Get Mikasa and maybe she can kill those thing." I say, Hanji looks at me oddly

"OK.... but it's going to be a long shot." She says as she goes to get Mikasa. Next thing I see is Mikasa fly through the air and kill both of those titans in a flash.

[Small time skip]

When we entered the gates I immediately hear what people start saying

"Look at all the dead, tch."

"What a waste of money."

"Why do they even bother?"

That last comment made me furious, I saw the man who said it and rode my horse to him then looked him in the eyes

"You. Stop being such an asshole about it, those soldiers who you called 'a waste of time and money' gave their lives to try and make sure we all could some day get our wall Maria back, so be a little fucking humble." I say and ride off leaving that man bewildered by my words

"I didn't know you have such a way with words." Hanji laughed "Anyways..... why don't you go talk to shorty. He seemed pretty worried about you when you unconscious." She said while grinning

"He was?" I ask trying to keep myself from blushing

"Yeah go talk to him and tell me his reaction when he sees you." She said as she waved me on

"OK, OK I'm going." I replied as I wen to go look for the captain. I finally found him talking to a man with a letter in his hand, being curious I decided to listen

"I don't think she's ready for marriage. I mean its to much responsibility, and she's far to young." The man says, I laugh quietly as I listen to the man go on about the letter to the Captain but for some reason my heart sort of....... shattered when he mentioned that the captain was engaged I wonder why?

After the man went away, captain Levi turned around to find me behind him

"How much of that did you hear?" He asked

"Enough." I laugh as I get off my horse and start walking next to him

"Shouldn't you be resting?" He asked annoyed

"I'll be fine. Anyway...." I trail "Who's the bride to be?" I ask with a smile

"No one Petra's father was just confused." I look at him with wide eyes

"Wait. That was Petra's father?" I ask as I hold back laughter

"You should be resting." He said avoiding my question, that's when I noticed that he was walking weirdly

"What's wrong with you leg?" I ask, he looks at me

"How did you-"

"I noticed you walking weirdly." I cut him off

"I think I twisted it sightly." He answered

"Then you should also be taking it easy, and not walking on that leg." I said, when my vision began to blur

I stopped an and wobbled a little bit

"You OK?" He asked

"Yeah I'm just going to go lay down for a little bit." I say as I walk away

When I woke up were already at HQ

"Hey Ruby." Hanji greeted cheerfully "There was a doctor in town who saw all our injured and came back to HQ with us to look at all our injuries." She informed as she lead me to the doctor.

I sat down in front of a girl who had her back turned to me but I could see that she had dark brown hair --that went a little past her shoulders-- and tan skin, she was probably about my height and was wearing a light baby blue skirt with a light purple shirt, when she turned around I noticed that she had dark brown eyes that matched her hair and whore magenta and black framed glasses. She smiled to me warmly

"Hello. My name is G2." She said with that sweet smile plastered on her face, I was shocked to see that she was around my age, but smiled back at her

"Hello my name is.... Wait what did you say your name is?" I asked when I realized how rude that sounded "Oh I'm sorry that was rude of me." I apologized, but she only kept smiling

"No it's alright I get that a lot." She said "my name is G2." She repeated, I looked at he weirdly

"Not to be rude but who would name their daughter G2?" I asked, she laughed

"Don't worry, G2 is only my nick name." She laughed, "I wasn't the only person in my neighborhood with my name there was another girl who has the same name as me so to not get us confused they called her G1 and they called me G2, that name kind of stuck for me so... I decided to have people call me that." She explained "The doctor doesn't even know my real name." She whispered with a smile, my eyes widened

"Really!?" I asked, she laughed, while getting gauze out

"No. Me and the doctor grew up together in the same neighborhood though he is a few years older than me." She smiled. I was surprised at how she could smile so easily she seemed to notice me staring "Is something wrong?" She asked her smile faded

"No, no." I said quickly shaking my head

"Ah..... Your probably wondering why I smile so much." She figured out, I looked at her wide eyed

"Its alright, people ask me that question a lot." She explained, I nodded

"So are you going to tell me what you normally say to those people?" I ask playfully, she smiled

"Heh, alright." She laughed "Well I smile because even just one warm caring smile in a room can make a sick man whose lost all hope that he has a chance of living, to hope and happiness of knowing that someone cares and believes that their going to make it." She explains "And its what makes me..... Me." She adds, I look at her confused "Heh it means that it makes me different." She said with her signature smile.

After a little while the doctor finally came and looked at my Injuries,and bandaged my injuries which seemed to be much worse than I thought, there was a small cut on my forehead and a few gashes on my back and a cut on my stomach and according to the doctor I came very close to breaking some ribs and I seemed to have rolled my ankle, there were also some small cuts on my arms, then he told me to take it easy and said I was aloud to go to my room. ' I think I'm going to go and take a shower. ' I thought
