Chapter 6

Recap -

There was something off about Damon, he was staring at me like he knew something. I don't know why but I think that he is trouble and I better stay away from him. It's like he knows what I'm thinking so he smiles my way but there was an evil glint in his eye.

Oh right how can I forget this school is made up with gifted people, so that means Damon already knows how to read minds. I thought to myself.

But I just because I'm on level one in controling my gifts doesn't mean I don't know how to block. I put my block up. Damon seemed to notice this which caused him to be irritated.

The bell rung and I had gym next.

Britney's POV -

Finding the gym was pretty easy. It was near the front office. I went to the change room and got changed. I went out of the change room and went to the coach. 

"Hi, I'm Britney Harper, I'm new." I said.

"Oh right, I forgot. Any ways I'm Ms. Greene." She said.

Wow every teacher here is reallly nice. I thought.

"Okay, class this is Britney Harper, our new student." Ms. Greene said.

"Class make a big circle in the centre of the gym." Ms. Greene instructed.

Everybody followed the instructions and made a circle in the centre of the gym. 

"Okay you need to get a partner and we will be playing a two on two game of badminton." Ms. Greene said.

As soon as she said that, everybody had a partner except for me. Then a guy came and asked my to be partners with him.

"Hi, you want to be my partner?" He asked in a polite tone.

"Sure." I replied.

"I'm Ryan Clark." He said.

"I'm Britney." I said.

We were versing two guys whose name I don't know. I was really good at badminton, I used to play it all the time with my mum, back home. I was pulled out of my thoughts when one of the guys served.

We played and by the end of the gym class the score was 5:2. We had won. Ryan was a pretty good athlete too.

"What do you have next?" Ryan asked me.

"Oh I have Science." I replied.

"Oh cool, I have the samething. Lets get changed and then I'll walk with you too the Science lab." Ryan offered.

"Okay." I said, as I made my way to the changing rooms.

I quickly got changed, and made my way out of the changeroom to find Ryan waiting for me.

"Thanks for waiting for me Ryan." I said.

"No problem." Ryan replied.

We walked to the science lab while talking about my family back home, Ryan was easy to get along with, he didn't talk much and that made it easier because I talk alot when I get comfortable with someone. We made it to the science lab and walked in.

"Oh no we have a new seating plan." Ryan mumbled.

"Why is that so bad?" I asked.

"Because he puts us in six groups with people who are not our friends." Ryan said.

"Oh okay, but you have me. Wait are we friends." I asked, just to make sure.

"Of course." Ryan said, with a smile.

"Oh you must be Britney Harper." The Science teacher said when he noticed me.

"Ya." I replied.

"I'm Mr. Fields, your new science teacher." Mr. Fields said.

"Hi." I mumbled.

"Okay we have a seating plan so Ryan and Britney can sit with, Jordan, Elena, Cynthia, and Nathan." Mr. Fields said, pointing towards the group at the back.

Ryan and I made our way towards the group. Ryan sat beside Jordan so there was only one seat left which was beside Nathan. I sat down beside Nathan.

"Okay class, this will be your groups for the rest of year. None of you are allowed to use your gifts, unless I give you permission to. So no, mind-linking, invisiblity, mind-reading, and teleporting. Although I know that most of you don't know how to control it, so don't bother using it unless you are sure you won't get caught, if I catch anyone using their powers, they will have an hour detention after school." Mr. Fields said.

"Okay today you guys can get to know each other since you will be working with each other for the rest of the year." Mr. Fields said.

And with that Mr. Fields went back to the computer doing what ever he was doing.

"Okay guys hey I'm Elena, I already know Britney because she is my room-mate." Elena said.

"Hey, I'm Jordan, and I already know Britney, because she is in my History class." Jordan said.

"Hey, I'm Ryan and I already know Britney, because she is in my Gym class." Ryan saind.

"Hi! I'm Cynthia and I already know Nathan, because he is in my Math class. Oh ya Britney is in my Math class too." Cynthia said, giving Nathan a wide grin and me a scowl.

"I'm Nathan, but all of you guys know me because I'm the principal's son." Nathan said cockily.

I almost choked on my own spit. Nathan was the principal's son!! But the Principal's last name was Mrs. Jensen, and Nathan's last name was Parker. I saw him write his last name in math. I decided not ask him about it.

"And I'm Britney, the new girl which all of you know." I said lamely.

"So do you guys want to play a game, since we still have an hour left of class." Elena said.

"Sure" All of us said in unison.

"Okay lets play Truth or Dare."  Elena offered.

"Okay." We all said.

"I'll start, so I'll ask somebody and then when they're done they can ask anybody, okay everybody get that. So we don't need to spin a bottle." Elena said,

"Yup." We all said at the same time again.
